i did as you said. 1k resistor between 5v and ps-on and nothing happened. i also did one between 5v -ps-on/bl-on. Still nothing BL also already had .5v going through it.

Most of the connectors on the power supply go to the main board then frc then tcon. Theres two small 4prong going to what is said to be LED + and - Are those the back lights?

You use 2 resistors so you get power to both pins ps-on and bl-on, could't tell if you were just using one, if bl-on only has .5 which is half a volt thats not enough to turn on backlights, did you check for expected voltages on all pins with the 2 jumper resistors in place?

Maybe do that test with all other boards unhooked from powerboard, see if you have expected voltages on all pins, thinking there should be about about 3 volts on bl-on.

Video here testing isolated powerboard, not an emerson but gives you the gist of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUvclBfaMXg

No sense messing with mainboard til you can verify powerboard.

Ok, I noticed in post 11, your 5 v standby is only 3 v, that won't work, need 5 v, this is where you need to start without 5 v here the rest won't work right.

Sorry i used only one resistor but with 3 wires. One side going to 5v other side going to ps on and bl on. Im not an electrician i figured thatd work the same. Ill have find another 1k resistor somewhere if not lol.

The power board only connects to the main and led. So it pretty much is isolated. Ill watch that video thanks for sharing

Yeah ignore that sorry. I was 1 off. 5vs is on 5vsb. When its plugged up to the main it sends 4vs to ps-on

Check all the diodes on powerboard, meter in diode mode, power cord unplugged, if one reads off lift a leg and recheck.

The BLON pin has .5 volts on it no matter if its jumped or not. Not sure if thats one of those that have to be pulled high or low to turn on or if somethings wrong there.

Ok, as long as you used 5v stndby for the connection it should have worked, did you test voltages with jumper in place, they should all be as indicated on legend.

All the diodes seem ok. And theyre all showing the proper voltages when main is plugged in. (It automatically sends ps-on when main is plugged in for some reason)

Ok, we should have started here: Test connector from mainboard to powerboard on powerboard side with all boards hooked up, test with tv plugged in but off then hit power, report both conditions here, give pin number, pin description/name and condition on and off. This test always tells a huge part of the story.

At off all it gives is a 5v.

At on that pinout i linked is correct except being 1 off.

I tried to jump it again. I tested the voltages. The pboard is definitely on. Strange enough even though im jumping it directly BL ON is only .9vs

Oh i should mention i cant test it off but with everything plugged in. As soon as i plug it in with the main plugged in the pboard comes on. I have to unplug main to test off voltages

Sometimes it matters which pin you use, make sure your only using the 5 v stndby pin for the jumpers and not the other 5v pins.

Maybe try with everything hooked up, hit the powerboard with a hairdryer, hit all the caps the optos etc. and see if tv comes on or if theres any change, then try hairdryer on mainboard.

Maybe try unhook button board and try using remote, maybe the on button is stuck.

I was actually able to confirm the button works as ir should. Followed the wires. Saw a voltage drop upon pressing on.

I used a reflow station to heat things up. No change. Im pretty sure that it is the eeprom. But the fact that i cant get it on concerns me a bit. Maybe element is weird and requires other things to get the backlight on

I noticed on the frc board theres a 6 prong socket. And the cable for thr backlight fits perfectly to it.
