    UN40F5500AF Doen't Turn On - Flickering

When the power button is pushed, the front LED blinks but the TV doesn't turn on. Unplugging the main board from the power supply, the backlight flickers. Checking the strips with an LED tester, they all test good.

PFC voltage on main caps is 392V and drifts a couple hundred of millivolts. B5V is stable at 5.2V. B13V is around 11V, not stable and drifts +/-1V. Since this supplies the LED driver IC, I believe either the PFC or 13V supply side is the main suspect.

PS is BN44-00645D. BN44-00645A schematic should be close.

"Unplugging the main board from the power supply, the backlight flickers." That will not be main board problem.
What does the LED tester show as far as the Vf of each LED strings, you have two LED strings (they are no the same, one has more LED's than the other).
BTW, LED tester only put out 30 mA instead of >200mA. Bad LED's will fail at higher current.

I unplugged the backlight connector with main connector disconnected and B13V is jumping around 10.5 to 12.5V. PFC voltage is stable at 392V DC. There are 4 diodes and one capacitor at the transformer output (not quite matching the schematic). None of the diodes are shorted.

Inspect the solder joints of that T81CS transformer (it is for 13v supply and LED power supplies) legs, especially those with riveted through hole solder joints, also inspect other solder joints as well. Those through hole rivet solder joints do fail a lot.

Solder joints look good and show good connectivity with ohmmeter. Measured resistance across B13V and seems a bit low at 180 ohms.

Found a service manual online for this model but no schematics and flow chart solution is to replace the power supply board. Flickering is likely caused when the 12V supply drops below minimum threshold for the supply on the LED driver ICs. I'll have to check the components that drive TM801CS. The output cap on the 13V line tested good as well as the diodes. There are quite a few differences from the A to D versions on that board.

Gave up and ordered a new PS board. Both outputs of TM801CS weren't stable. Checked all the rectangular poly caps and ceramic disk caps in that section and they all tested ok. Got 3.4V on VCC of ICM801. New board should fix it.

New power supply arrived and tv is fixed. Bought from Aliexpress seller. Probably safer to buy on ebay with money back guarantee.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                  by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

                  Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                  🧩 Problem Summary:
                  • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                  • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                  • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
                  by reessi
                  Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                  by Asraf Atb
                  Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....
