Shop I do work for said it has a lock code on the menu so I can't even do the “4725” combo... meaning tv is on you press menu and pin code comes up
    Any ideas guys....
    Thank you

          Re: Polaroid p50up2038a menu lock

on some polaroids i have read that you can set up a pin too protect anyone messing with the menu settings i guess this is what your seeing? im not sure if reloading the firmware would solve this? maybe try and get a user manual for the tv and see if there is a default factory pin too bypass the menu code try the basics like 0000 etc

post the model number of the unit and service./user manual ..
i think there should be a service menu that over rides everything .

Hi Pete the model number is as shown in the title and all they seem to mention is the “0000” method and that does not work thanks though

easy way to solve this issue and many other like edit, use this tool attached.

connect tv with LAN and remark the IP address from your router
open the tool and select enable Telent/FTP and then write the IP Address
click on enable FTP, it will do the job for you at port 22, look on the log of the tool it will show you the info.

then open any ftp client, i prefer always FileZilla Client ,
log in and browser etc, users. also you can copy in your case your board mb130--- mb130_swprofile.bin , mb130_langprofile.bin , mb130_hwprofile.bin

all these can be edit with the same tool, dont do any things elles if you dont know, just upload here or make screen shoot to folder etc... users... to tell you where the lock file to delete it or rename it.

Hope you have solved this issue by now but it sounds like it's in Hotel / store mode which stops you from changing settings. Updating the software does a factory reset so you can follow these instructions and hopefully it will work for you. I have attached the firmware for 17mb130 v3.62.73. https://files.fm/u/v7556rnj

                                  SOFTWARE UPDATE
                                  MAIN SOFTWARE UPDATE
In MB98 project, please follow software update procedure:
                                  1. mb130_en.bin, mb130_RomBoot.bin, mb130_PM51.bin and usb_auto_update_G10.txt documents should
be copied directly inside of a flash memory (not in a folder).
                                  2. Insert flash memory to the TV when TV is powered off.
                                  3. While pushing the OK button in remote control, power on and wait. TV will power-up itself.
                                  4. If First Time Installation screen comes, it means software update procedure is successful.
