Rca 32" RLDED3258a-c will flash the logo momentarily and then shut off.I have verified leds all come on and voltage is around 37vdc however it quickly shuts down and don't get stable dc voltage.

May be worth looking at this Youtube video. Says the led voltage is 71V

Pictures of what we are dealing with? Please upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards, and good clear pictures of the connectors that show the pinout of the connectors.Never stop learning

Sounds like a typical LED Backlight failure issue, to me.Comment

Only one board?
Leave the meter probes on the two legs of capacitor EB801 in that LED driver circuit and then turn on the TV while watching the meter to see how high the DCV jumps up to and settles down to after 10 second, the repeat the same test but without the LED connector in place.Never stop learning

Re: Rca 32" RLDED3258A-c only powers up momentarily.
Yeah, RCA has been doing this "all in one board" design for a few years now. To 90% all these RCA's have backlight failures, because you can't adjust the backlight in the menu. It is always running at full tilt.Comment

Re: Rca 32" RLDED3258A-c only powers up momentarily.
Hi Budid some test and found voltage in off condition is 27 vdc and with power on jumps to 65 for 2-3 sec then slowly bleeds back to 27.With connector off its still 27vdc but jumps to 105 and stays for maybe 2 sec then bleeds back down again.I did check with panel lifted prior and all lamps seemed to light but was very quick.

Re: Rca 32" RLDED3258A-c only powers up momentarily.
Well the Boost converter is working, the input Voltage to the boost converter is 27V, so when the LED driver shuts down you will only see the feeding the Voltage of 27 V.
105 V without LED connector in place and 65 V with connector is place shows that it does see the Load (LED's) but somehow it goes into shutdown.
You may have to find out next if the BL-ON and the Dim control signals are gone or not when the Backlights go off, this will be hard since it is all in one board so I doubt that there will be any test point labels for those two signals.

You can adjust the backlight but you need to go into the service menu. With TV on, MENU-1-1-4-7 Under panel settings. Eeprom failure is also common in these all-in-one board modelsLast edited by neilc6; 10-13-2018, 09:26 PM.Comment

by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-

by malogroHello all,
I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:
Intro:
This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.
Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,... -
by bohabohaHi it looks like everything works don't know where to test except the 390v in the 2 capacitor in the hot side of the power supply and the weird 180v in the diodes in the cold side that should be discharged it is writin on the circuit no more you can read what is written on the circuit quite srrange color mixiing yellow and white
anyhow i couldn't t read anything else
the backlight is on strong and the screen does not get dark or very dark but no pictures
the mainborad feels a bit hott on the black part i test it to 52 degree's against 34 to 40 on the rest of it

by valvashonThe 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it... - Loading...
