    Sony KDL-40BX420--2011 burning ribbon cable

Seems like the 2011 version of the KDL-40BX420 has different PCBs.
The T-Con Board measures 1" by 21" & is located on the top edge of TV.
Other KDL-40BX420's (w/o the "2011" in the model number) have a
    4" by 6" T-Con Board mounted at the 'top-rear'.
After replacing the P/S & Main boards from a SHARE (parts only) Sony
of the same vintage (w/ the same "2011" model number) my primary
TV started to burn the ribbon cable going from the Main to that 1" by 21"
    T-Con board.

Does anyone have ideas as to where to go from here ???

Should always match part numbers on the boards down to the revision numbers, probably shorted mate.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
      by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

      Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

      First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

      820-01700 burning battery flex cable
      by manubali
Hey everyone, i was hoping if someone have seen this issue before.

This unit came in with liquid damaged mainly on left side cd3217, nand circuit, T2 pmu and battery pcb, replacing above mentioned components and performing dfu revive fixed the issue, but its burning ground pins of battery flex cables (on battery pcb side).

Diode values of data lines are normal and i have tested this on multiple batteries, so this is not faulty battery.

i measured the voltage on those pins and it goes to around 1 volt and then it burns the cable...

Need a replacement ribbon cable DELL Latitude E5470
      by lowpost99@gmail.com
Anyone know if the ribbon cables are standard across laptops cases like in a PC, or are they proprietary to each manufacturer? I damaged the one that runs between the MB and the power / HDD / Battery Status Indicator LED Circuit Board. The Dell SKU/DPN: ADM70LED. I just need help finding a replacement. Could I possibly use a similar cable from a donor laptop?

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
      by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...
