We also require good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the board, and then the picture of the whole board of each board.

sounds like the main board isn't sending BLon.

+1 That's the only conclusion you can reach with the limited information supplied. Mainboard fault.

Re: panasonic THL32P6D BACK LIGHT PROBLEM

I have had little success in fixing a BLon issue on the main board. Most of the time the main IC wasn't sending it, requiring an IC replacement. Usually it's just better to replace the main board all together.

If the only problem is the BL-ON control signal but if ALL other functions of the main board are OK, then you can use T-CON power on to turn on the backlights circuit.

Hmmm....I never thought of that. Very good and workable idea.

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

                    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                    Hi all

There's two other threads about this monitor with seemingly the same problem. The problem was resolved in one case by replacing the entire PSU board and in the second one by replacing an unknown IC.

The first one has pictures of the pcbs and I noticed that there's one IC and assorted caps not populated on mine (but the PCB itself looks identical) so I thought that'd warrant a new thread.

It's my dad's old monitor. He...

                    by multimesut
                    Hello friends,

A yellow light was flashing on my monitor. It was like it was constantly cutting power. When I opened it up, I saw that the big capacitor in the high voltage line was leaking. I replaced it. When I turned it on for the first time, it had the same problem again. But then, interestingly, it got better. The yellow light was on steady. But the monitor wouldn't turn on. When I examined them with a thermal camera, I saw that the Fli5961-LF reached 50 degrees Celsius and the EM636165TS next to it reached 100 degrees Celsius and was drawing high current on the motherboard....
