Can the leaked oil from the thermal pad cause any image distortion?

It shouldn't be conductive so shouldn't cause an issue but you can always check with a multimeter.

Hello everyone.
I also have a problem with the SONY KDL-40 NX 800 TV. The belts were running on the screen and I also heated the main chip with a heat gun and the belts got lost. The TV went nice but the next day after a while the same thing happened again. I also have a hot air station - how many degrees should I heat it up? Or then at what temperature to cook in the oven?

The error was repeated after two days - the belts rushed to the screen again. I will now heat the hot air station to 275 degrees with the addition of flux.
This could help to restore the joints on the balls

Mate as i told you no matter what you do you can't repair it permanently.
The board needs reballing OR replacement with a new (old stock) and in either ways larger heatsinks.
I lost 8 days of my life trying everything and all i got was a angry customer.

Yes, I believe you.
But I didn't find the T-CON anywhere, only on Aliexpress
about 65 Euro

If it's customer's tell him it's not worth it.
