le40a656a1f vertical and horizontal fading in and out lines

    Hello People,

I have received from a friend of mine a faulty TV, it's a samsung le40a656a1f, and according to the troubleshooting file in the sticky i suspect the T-CON board to be the culprit, here is a video of the behaviour of this TV:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nSP1yZvVIQ

Now, if the culprit is really the t-con board i am willing to buy another one and swap it, but i read so many stories about people buying t-con board and not having any result or improvement.

What do you think is the solution?

Thats a bad panel. Disconnect one ribbon from tcon to panel at a time. See if left or right side works.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

          It is a panel fault.
I've got exactly the same set with the identical problem; however if I switch the set on and toggle thought the Source setting quickly, I can get it to display a perfect picture. It does take some time though.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

            Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
            by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
            by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

Toshiba TV 55L6200U horizontal lines + vertical bands. Any hope?
            by oxi1158
            Hi all,

My TV had been showing for the last year some faint horizontal lines on all of its right side, about one out of each 4 of 5 rows of pixels. Not much of a bother, they were unnoticeable when watching a movie. Then, all of a sudden the horizontal lines became much stronger and crossed the whole screen, effectively making it a pain to watch.

I watched some youtube video where some guy "fixes" it with some tape on the ribbon cable of the t-con, so I tried that, but to no avail. Actually, after putting the TV back together again things worsened: apart...

            by Ihandyrepair
            Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

            by gpo23
            Hello,

            i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

            Thank you for your help
