    Need resistor help

Trying to repair a sc board for a TC-P50S2. I put a parts in and got one doiad backwards and fried two resistors. Having a hard time finding the r601. Looking for help from someone that knows more about resistors than me. Open to all options to fix.

    Re: Need resistor help

Try this service manual for the S1 may be similar. Parts list at the end lists R 601 not sure if its the same but worth a try. Oops sorry just realised your first picture had it lol. 620 Ohm metal Glazed 1/2 a watt Resistor. I can't see it being 620 megohm as what would be it's point unless some sort of current limiter. It is an exact value resistor though and must be replaced with original for ensured safety so wait for someone else to chime in.
Someone more knowledgeable might chip in.

Yeah that's what digikey and mouser say 6.2Mohm is rare and a high value

The only other Mohm resistor is R507 but can't find it any where at all on the board.

R 507 is near IC 521 on my manual not sure if your board is different Fordman.

So does your board resemble this Fordman? See Attachment?

No way that resistor is 620Mohm, maybe 62.
Look at the board layout. The trace is big and it sits between the drain of Q601 and D618.
I think it's very low resistance working as a fuse... and it worked... maybe 6R2, looks like the 2 7R5 in parallel nearby...
                  What are Q601 and D618?

So what would you suggest to use for size.

Figure out what are Q601 and D618.
Ask to some ebay reseller!!! :P

                            Got it.
                            The correct components in the list begin with "R16". So R16601 is 1ohm 0,33W, R16609 is 2kOhm 0,33W as we already know (202, 20 * 10^2)

So the R601 and R609 isn't the right things. I want the R16601 and R16609.

Service manual Page 68 R16601 is 1 Ohm resistor on that SC board TNPA5105. It is not R601, you have to match the part designator per schematic.
                                Part list page 104.
The MOSFET is probably shorted out.

I put in d16618 backwards unknowly and powered up and popped the resistors. So trying to repair them to see if my board works after I put the the repair kit from shopjimmy.com.

I know it's dodgy but you can test it using a thin wire from a stranded one as a fuse in substitution of R601.
If i'm correct that r601 blows with a current of 0,5-0,6A.
But why also r609 is dead? Check for shorts on that line.

Wouldn't the diode being backwards cause my blown resistors.
