    Vizio gv47l fhdtv10a

I have a Vizio GV47L with the master/slave inverter boards. The TV powers on, audio works but no backlight/video. I have 24VDC, grounds and the 3.3 and 5V line present at the master inverter. Both inverters had bad 680uF 35V caps that I replaced. I've read the thread here -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37666

The voltage regulators I've looked at all seem fine. Any ideas on why the inverters don't turn on? Looks like they should given the 3.3V and 5V present there.

    Any experts on this unit?

It needs the BL-ON (or INV-ON/OFF) command signal (<1VDC = OFF, >2VDC = ON from the main board for the inverter circuit to come on.
Best to post good clear pictures of the inverter board and the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards.

Thanks for the response. I am posting pics of my boards. The inverter has the power connection and a ribbon cable. I have not chased the ribbon cable back but it appears to be a low voltage/current data line to the slave inverter.

Wow - thanks for the additional motivation here. Not sure why I didn't figure this out earlier the 10 ampere surface mount fuse on the master inverter failed as well. Bypassed it with a simple clip and the backlights came right on. Appreciate the nudge to take photos. Feeling a little silly now.

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
          by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

          Vizio M65-C1
          by mrtek
          Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel

          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...
