Sony KDL-40EX520 Switches off after 2 secs

    Hi everybody,

I have two identical Sony KDL-40EX520's, both have faulty main cpu pcb's

I have one good working main cpu pcb, which gets both sets running perfectly.

The faulty main cpu pcb causes both sets to run for two seconds, and then power down with a red led.

You then can't power the set on without disrupting the mains.

I see in the factory settings listing that to enter the factory setting on Sony's, you have to "arrow up on the remote, and power on button on the set (set on)." On time interval not long enough to reset.

    I don't have a Eeprom flash programmer.

I tried shorting pins 5 & 6 on the only eeprom I could see with obviously no result.

    Any suggestions?

ALL the fuses on the FUSES on the main board OK?

I see 4 fuses on the top side of the board, there may be more on the bottom side of the board too.
Did you do any Voltage testing comparison between the working board and the non-working boards?
