If those are not LED strips from TV, they often use resistors to limit the current, this will not work in your case.
You need 14 x 3V LEDs in series, see post #15. The current is also mentioned there.
If you have LED tester, it's much easier to figure it out.
    Cool, thanks for the info!
Yeah, I thought that the resistors in my strip would be an issue alright!

The current mentioned in post #15 is the current that he used for test, not the current that the TV expect from the LED strips, which is the number I'm looking for, and unfortunately I don't have an LED tester.

What model LED is used? This is my first time fixing a TV's backlight, so I'm a bit lost, not sure if this LED model is common across TVs and what model is it.

    Something like this maybe? 3000k? 3030? 119lm? 350mA? 1W?

This one is 3.2V though, not sure if needs to be exactly 3V, as it does add up to 44.8V when in series (instead of 42V)...

Sorry about so many questions.. But if I get the exact LED model then I'll have no trouble figuring out the rest myself!

    Thanks again!

      Eureka!
Working now with modified LED strips to match correct voltage/current and no resistors! Just a dead line of LEDs on the screen, only visible in certain moments (plain grey or white images).
Just need now to get proper LEDs ordered and the courage to replace them!

      Thanks!
