    LG mainboard substitution!

Any LG experts out there who could advise me. How do you identify LG mainboards as a suitable replacement when the one for your set is not available.

For example I was recently looking at an LG42LA620V-ZA with board details:-
    EBT62383453
    EBR76730903
    EAX64797004 (1.1) 13.07.10 B.K.H. 183X225
    LD33B/LC33B/LE33B

However there were mainboards available for an LG 42LN578V board details:-
    EBT62383453
    EBR76730903
    EAX64797006 (1.2)

And also for an Model LG 50LA620V board details:-
    EBT62383453
    EBR76730903
    EAX64797003(1.2)
    LD33B/LC33B/LE33B

Do you go by EBT, EBR, EAX numbers or all must match?

    Thanks
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

    No expert, but.

Here i believe go by EBT, EAX will be the board pcb but if it's laid out the same , move on. A quick search shows EBT62383453 fitted to 42 - 50 " models (LG LA620V )

The EBR numbers are showing the same .

Obviously some aspects will be different like the eeprom data which holds the Model, serial and runtime.

You can simply copy that and re-write the new board eeprom. Always save the originals files just in case it goes belly up.

probably need more time to analyse 42LN578 board, some imagery would be helpful on your part.

Thanks for your reply which is appreciated. I'll find some photo's of the different mainboards and add them on.

      Edit
To me they all look identical although I would agree that the information within the Flash IC's would be different.

        @tw2005,

How do you copy that eeprom data?
If using a board from a different sized TV, but of the same series, could you just reload the firmware from the proper sized TV via USB if that TV brand supported it? That way the firmware from the correct size TV overwrites that of the different model.

I don't have all the answers or for all situations but I have a very cheap and simple CH341A ebay special, clips onboard and suits 25 series SPI and 24 series EEPROM.

The clip that came with it was rubbish, had to get a decent POMONA clip which was 5 times the cost of the original item.
There is some guesswork and research involved but I've had some fun with the pannys and now an LG. I could even go in and rename the model or alter the serial to match. Could also do the same on a laptop motherboard too.

also handy for those corrupted and having to reflash. Done a couple of cheapies that way where they won't do anything if the firmware is bad.

I just find it handy. I have a Sanyo, all it needs is the firmware, but the auth distributer won't help, can't find the file, really sucks considering the board is 100% good, just bad software.

cncms.com.au has service manuals for Sanyo and under AWA main board firmware.

if you let me know what the main board model number is and panel info, i will see if i have one in stock. currently cataloging what i have in stock. it will take a while to get through it all, but i can keep an eye open for you.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

The EBR number for the 42LA620V was EBR76730903

So it looks like you have to match both the EBR and EBT numbers exactly when substituting.

I don't have the set now since the person realised they had a 5 year warranty on it still running.

However trying to work out the correct substitution of LG boards is still useful to know.

I was thinking EBT, anyway all three have the same EBT and EBR yet look at th eRev of the data on those chips. There is a firmware upgrade so I bet once applied they'sd all end up the same. Chances are any of those boards would operate it and then you could like i've said copy or edit some data to correct the model and serial

                            Hi
does anyone know if a 42LF580V would work in a 50LF580v main board ?
                            Thanks
