Hi guys, got a faint picture on this Samsung, got 180v on pin 1 of the backlight connector and nothing on the other 4. Should there be?

      1. Disconnect the jack going to the Main Bd.
      2. Turn ON tv.
      3. Do the Backlights come ON now?

Hello Norman, Out of interest, were you successful with any of your other repairs.

Does the board say led voltage 112V @ 260mA which would suggest that 180V is the open circuit voltage and the led strip is probably open circuit. Either a bad led(s) or bad led strip connection.

Hi Andrew, without the main board attached there's no picture at all, not even a dark one. Hi Dick, on the pcb it says 65v 450ma. So if the voltage is high is that suggesting the led's are open circuit not bringing the voltage down?

you need such a device to diagnose the backlight. Without disassembly of the display

I probably didn't say it right....You WILL NOT get a picture with the cable from PSU to Main Bd disconnected....I wanted you to look for the backlights through the holes at the back of the panel.......You do however have bad backlights though from what I read......Can you strip the panel down to reveal the LED backlight strips??

I have that device in my armoury there is no sign of any light from the led's at the rear. When replacing led's individually can you use led's from a different make/model/size TV? Or are they different voltages ect?

LEDs can be a different size, colour and mounting. There are a couple of voltages too.

So is there a way of telling which ones out of a scrap tv will go in another tv? Are the volts marked on the pcb strip or anything?

You could spend time cross referencing numbers on sites like ebay and shopjimmy although some look the same from the top but not the bottom.

I'd just remove the faulty LED, check my stash for the same LED then look for a new one online if I didn't have one in stock.
There are people selling replacement strips just get an identical one.

                            by TR103
                            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                            - sound and backlight, but no picture
                            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                            - it keeps rebooting
                            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                            by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                            Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                            by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                            Hello all,

This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...
