Re: Panasonic TXL50B6B flashing picture
Cheap and easy as long as none of the LEDs have failed but you won't know until you fit them.
The thread mentions the serial numbers but the ebay ad doesn't. Perhaps it was discovered it covered more ?
Worth a punt at a fiver I reckon especially if showing signs of warm there.Comment

by DXseekerMOAbout a week and a half ago this TV was traded in to me with the complaint: upon turning it on one morning a white blob slowly spread across the screen. Before I got it the TV had been sitting about 3 weeks. I also found the RF IN connector was missing. I turned it on for evaluation and got the splash screen/menus.
I installed a 75ohm RF connector, repaired several bad grounds on the power board and chassis, checked all boards for loose screws and cleaned the entire inside of the TV. After all appeared well, the TV was tested for 40 hours and was subsequently put up for sale. ... -
by FZGHello!
I recently got an old VHS player from Panasonic and just for fun I want to try to repair this device. It is an AG-1000B portable VHS player from 1990 and it has a problem with picture quality in playback mode.
Picture in playback mode is very noisy and often loses sync but the still images are nearly perfect.
I want to know, is this something that could be solved by recapping or is the video head likely gone?
Also, what mechanism is this?
Any feedback is appreciated!...05-06-2024, 07:16 AM -

While I have quite a decent background in electrical & electronic troubleshooting & repairs, this is my first time stripping down an LCD TV for repair.... I have inherited a 3yr old Panasonic LCD which has a picture, but it is quite dark (too dark to be watchable - but still quite easy to see; I didnt need a torch to see it).
I started by checking and trying to adjust all of the picture and backlighting levels, but that made little to no difference. I also did a factory reset.
From there I envisaged that the backlighting wasn't working, however... -
by corrizeHello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.
In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display.... -
by maricmHI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.
