Vesel PSU on JVC TV PL807 connector?

    My TV model is:
    TV JVC LT-32DF7BC
    Input 220-240V 50Hz 180W
    Country: FRANCE
Power supply model: 17pw15-8 WITH PL807 connector
Picture on my initial board (failing): http://i.imgur.com/zkzjwHD.jpg
Picture on the board i've bought: https://spares2repair.co.uk/images/t...2020231546.jpg
    Schematics of the board:https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...3e2e0f880d.pdf
    Hi,
I wanted to repair the a vestel PSU of the JVC TV, but after replacing the 2 cap C878 and C877, the tv still failed randomly at start. When it's starting your dont hear any buzzing on the PSU board wheras you hear a buzzing hissing sound when it cannot start and the Power led stays RED and it's rebooting in loop. I tried to locate the buzz sound, i'm not sure, but i think it's coming from a transformer on the PSU board. The top right one. Anyways, as i failed to repair the initial board, i bought the whole board on ebay, but discovered that the board is not the same, it has not the PL807 connector as my initial board. I have the full schematics of the board, so tried to understand why there is a PL807 connector on some board and not on others. But i still dont understand. The voltage present on this connector are all present on other connector except the 2.5V one. Currently i dont have the TV at hand because i'm in hollydays. Do you know if my tv would start without the PL807 connector plugged? And do you know what's the purpose of the connector? and why some board have it and others not?
    Thank you.
If you wonder, the PL807 connector is white and located near others connectors at the bottom of the board.

Re: Vesel PSU on JVC TV PL807 connector?

So you need to use the power supply which has not got PL807 connector fitted?

If all the other connector voltages match and it's just PL807 that's missing then I would check PL807 pins 1 to 7 to see that they have the correct voltages which I would think it would, except the 2.5V would be missing.

If you were to solder in diodes D840 & D841 then you should have your 2.5V.

I would then unsolder PL807 connector and move it across to the replacement power supply.

Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Re: Vesel PSU on JVC TV PL807 connector?

I cannot send it back i think. The seller on ebay wont accept it. Hes from uk btw.
But i think ill try to sell this board because it will be useless because it doesnt have this PL807 connector. I think at 90% that the tv wont work without connector related wires plugged in. The seller or anybody cant confirm though. But it seems logical.
So i wont bother to unsolder resolder diodes and connector because im nor even sure it would work: ill just buy the correct board with that damn connector fitted.
But i still wonder why vestel did such a thing: a board with same reference with 2 différents versions!

I would test voltages on the power supply first just in case it's not the power supply at fault

I'm with dick, swap the connector and add the diodes.
The same board with different versions is to save money. The board will be used in different sized TVs.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
            by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
