    LG Main board

    Hi
I'm pretty sure my main board is faulty as I can't get any free view channels
I've tried a factory reset but it didn't solve the problem.
My TV is 42LW551c-ze (this is a Hotel TV)

    Main board is - EBT61514204

    EAX64294002(1) 11.03.28 KDU

When I do a search I get very few results for this TV, either they don't break
    or people just dump them.

Any body out there know were I can source a replacement main board, or is there a fix, the TV is still being used through a set top box so it's not a real problem but I would like to get it working properly.

Free view may be locked out in hotel mode
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

          Hi dskall

Thanks for taking the time to try and help me, I'm not sure I know what you
mean, is it some thing to do with flashing the Eeprom, if so no and I would definitely need some help on that.

No , you need to search for the firmware for this specific model. Normally you can find it on the LG website , download it , save it on USB and apply it via the system settings/menu etc.

Same as on your mobile phone when it searches for updates.....
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

              Hi Moreno83

Having checked I have the latest Firmware so that's not the problem, thanks

check the solder joints on the tuner. they can break free sometimes.

when you run a channel scan, do you get any static flicker when it almost picks up a station, or is there nothing at all?
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

Did you get into the service menu rather than the usual set menu?

                    Hi
When I do a channel scan it goes to 50% then finishes there is no flicker nothing happens, and it's the set menu I think as I'm not sure about the service Menu and how to get into it.
                    Regards

Depending on model there are a few ways to access service menu just do a Google on it, also other hotel menu password 1507 I think. In other makes I know hotel mode can be switched on or off in service menu.

                        Re: LG Main board

Tried service menu and every thing in there is OK, So unless I can find a bad solder joint on the Tuner it looks like it's the Main board. Unfortunately
they are very hard to come by.

worst case scenario, you could always use a receiver.

i know a repair is always better, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

I think you are right, we will keep using it through the set top box, and I'll keep my eyes open for a replacement main board.
