TCL 40FS3800 Stuck in Screen Test Pattern

    Hello there,

I have a TCL Tv that the initial problem was that it would play fine for 10 to 15 seconds and it would cut off. So I replaced the main board and tv played great but when I was closing the tv I noticed a distorted picture. I wiggle the LVDS cable that connects main board to interface board (not sure if I would call it T-Con) and picture looked good. I taped the LVDS cable thinking it was loose but nothing, problem still come and goes when I wiggle cable.
I decided to reversed the cable (it works with samsung tvs) and tv now shows like if its stuck in a test pattern. It shows green, blue, red color (see pictures).
I couldn't understand why so I put it back to like it was originally and now it doesnt show anything at all, just the backlight appears to be on and sound.

Any suggestions? I added a few pictures.

    Thanks for your time.

I would remove the cable and inspect the exposed conductors at both ends to make sure they are not damaged.

You know, I was wondering the same. Can I attach a wire from the circuit board to the screen metal shield? FYI Power cord has only 2 legs.

                Yes you can.

This is actually a big problem on some ASUS laptop LVDS cable - they use the silver conductive mesh tape which the cable is wrapped in, as the only ground of the circuit. Seen it cause quite a mess of an intermittent issue. Ran a wire from one connector all the way to the other, soldered on both sides, problem solved.

I used al alligator from tape to screen (metal) still the same. Pic is attached.
I'm starting to think that I damaged the screen.

I believe that when I reversed the cable, I probably didn't put the cable correctly and the pins did not seat correctly and caused a short that allowed the tv to go into screen test pattern. How do I get out of that?

Here are two pics of the immediate components that are located right where the LVDS connector goes on the screen side. Maybe you guys can see something.

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
                          by BMCappelletti
                          Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                          by alltvrepairs
                          Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                          Appreciate your help....

                          by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...
