seems like bad capacitors or dirty connection.

hi i am updating this thread ...its no longer valid

will create a new one after further testing

the previous sound and video issue appears to be the dvd player....when i got good voltages on tv i then was like whats causing the sound to be bad and after messing with dvd player i found out the connections are bad on the internal board which caused funky sound and video...as shown before...

i bought the tv for $10 guy said it stops working after 15 min

i have had it on for over 45 min with perfect pic and sound...via dvd player...will continue to test....i get good 195v and 60v and 5v outputs and inputs to y and z boards...but there is one bulged cap at output ps to y board 3300uf 10v and 1 bulged cap on z board 150uf 100v....but until i get the tv to not work as previous owner said i cant figure out the issue...

im sorry for all the previous posts....

it goes to show you...you have to check the basics first......never would have thought it was dvd player causing the issues but i started using common sense and adding things up and it just didnt make sense so thats why i then tested the dvd player i found out sound and video were both defect...

                  ok update

i replaced the cap on the z board and ps and made no difference

                  it now seems even worse

i can sometimes get an image when i hit menu button but now all i get mostly is just weird outlined colors as shown in my previous pics

i get good voltages coming from ps

if someone had to guess by my photos in post #20 with the odd outlined color image....would that be a z board symptom or y board sysmptom?

sometimes the pic is fine but now most of the time the image is funky looking like the pic on post #20 here on the right

Re: LG plasma tv behaving very odd

hi again....i just checked the heat sinks on the y and z

there are 2 ipms on each board ..

on the z both heat sinks are warm

on the y one is warm and one is cold

tv has been on for 20 min..

my question is that if one of the ipms is faulty on the y...why would i get a good picture sometimes....or could there be an issue with power to that particular ipm...or is this normal if an ipm is going bad....

i know the ipms going bad is very very common

TV Samsung UE55HU8500L (2014) – service menu + firmware reflashing advice needed
                            by Robby-Gr
                            Hi all,

I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.

However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.

The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.

                            Additional issues:...

                            Hello,

So I was referred here when I made this poste over on AVForums: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/loc...lg-tv.3257234/

To summarize, this is a commercial TV and I can't get a menu of any kind. I know the overlay is working because when I change channel, adjust volume, turn on sleep timer I do see text. But I have not ever seen the user menu nor the installers menu. I've tried a bunch of remotes(more info on the AVF post) and tried every button...

Philips 58PUS7805 Menu working but no/weird picture from video sources
                            by Ierwin
                            Hello everyone,

I got a 58pus7805 that shows some weird behavior.
The menu and remote work fine and the picture is looking crisp and flawless while navigating the menu.
However, when a video source is displayed the screen either goes solid green (HDMI), solid black (SAT TV) or shows some fragments on mostly green background (AVI Playback from USB).

I tried to reinstall the firmware through the menu which was rejected saying it already had the latest version.
I managed to install the latest official firmware by holding the control button while plugging...

EIZO CX270 - No signal but Backlight and Panel works, logo works, admin menu works. OSD doesn't. What?!
                            by vf fa
Hi, so i guess I´ll have to make a new topic here, as i browsed through hundreds of other threads but couldn't find a solution to my problem yet.

I got a EIZO CX270 from a friend. He said it doesn't work anymore and wont display any signal or take any OSD inputs. Well, as an aspiring photographer I couldn't say no, could I? Thought it was an easy game, replace a bad cap and have a working monitor. But nooope, it wasn't supposed to be this easy.

So let me start with the problem description. I'll try my best not to skip anything so this might get rather long.
