Re: Panasonic tc-p55gt30 Loud Pop and 7 blinks again
This post was from last year (?)
Anyway Im interpreting it as he installed a kit purchased from sj (which are inferior quality from my own experience) which then blew out other components. The picture shows the damage that the kit did to the other components. Not his soldering job.

Re: Panasonic TC-P55GT30 7 Blinking Lights... SC Board OK
Yup my point was... The c640 test is a good indicator that one or more of your buffer chips are shorted. It's not a defect with the capacitor, and sometimes it's normal to have no capacitor in there depending on version. The part that needs replacement is the buffer chip which requires the correct tools and painstaking work.
You could of course test the ribbon connectors individually which you already did.
Glad you have diagnosed the problem and they are happy to accept returns

Re: Seller beware. Savanal aka CRADEAL
I have been selling on ebay too and some buyers give me a hard time. My policy is that I only sell 100% working stock and no refunds given if it does not fix their TV. This is for quality assurance as we are unable to test returned stock and unable to resell it again. I do occasionally get customers filing a claim against me for an 'item not as described' but actually it's because they ordered the wrong part and failed to ask questions before buying. Ebay has no interest in these kinds of disputes and will always favour the...

Seller beware. Savanal aka CRADEAL
Just wanted you guys to know there's a seller by the name of "savanal" trading on marketplace website bonanza.com where I bought a buffer board from. The prices look reasonable and the seller's ratings make him look reputable, but don't be fooled.
After finding out that the item I received was defective, I tried to message him for a refund. While he was responsive, he talked a load of rubbish. And when I checked the PayPal record, I found out it's the same guy trading on cradeal.com, which some of you already know sell dodgy parts. If you haven't already, see for yourself...

Re: LG 55LD650 Display Good Won't Load Past LG Boot Screen.. Firmware??
Glad to know you have the tools and ability to reflow.
However it's known that the problem often re-occurs. The initial cause is cracked solder joints under the BGA chip due to heat stress and a reflow is only a temporary fix.
LG used a small heatsink poorly contacted with tape adhesive for the cooling mechanism. You might want to use a liquid thermal adhesive instead to make good contact with the heatsink. And even better, swap the original heatsink for a larger one. Bear in mind...

Re: Samsung LE40B530 - iR doesn't work
Oh you mentioned you moved the IC across in your original post. Sorry for asking.
Btw, the Samsungs normally take 2 sec to respond to power off commands on the remote, don't they? And the melody could be set to ON/OFF using the screen menu.

Can you transfer the chip from your old board across to your new board?

Re: LG 55LW5600 No Video No Sound
Might wanna check the power supply because I have seen them fail in these models. Check the secondary fuse, the mosfets and also inspect the blue ceramic capacitor near the mosfets.

Re: LA52A610A red standby light constant, clicking on and off
So I tried replacing my A610A board with the A650A board from another working TV. The tv now works normally EXCEPT the standby light flashes repetitively while the TV is ON. The red light should turn off when the TV is on, well that's how it behaves on the normal working TV. It responds to remote commands though.
Will try transferring the standby light and remote receiver module across to see if it stops the blinking.

Re: LA52A610A red standby light constant, clicking on and off
No, they were not preprogrammed. I soldered in a new blank EEPROM.
Are you saying these have to be pre-programmed, and not automatically written on start up? Are the above symptoms characteristic of a faulty EEPROM?
Cheers

Re: LA52A610A red standby light constant, clicking on and off
Please help if somebody knows!
I located two 8 pin ics that could possibly be the eeproms. One of them reads S24CS0 and the other reads ATMLH834. When I replaced both of them with new eeprom chips, I get the same thing. Still solid red standby light and clicking on and off, no picture, no backlight. The mainboard is very hard to find, so i need to repair it rather than replace....Last edited by syaoran123; 07-26-2018, 11:22 AM.

Re: LG 42LG50 no backlight or display
Im not sure what you mean. Why do you rule out the power supply? Recapping is the first thing you should do on a tv pre-2010. Whether it fixes it or not....

Re: LG 42LG50 no backlight or display
Did you recap the electrolytic capacitors on the top right? Also test the two blue film capacitors on the bottom right to see if they match the ratings.

Can you inspect the blue polymer caps on the psu next to the transformers on the bottom left hand side? Look for any signs of damage.

LA52A610A red standby light constant, clicking on and off
LA52A610A (LA52A610A3F)
Wont turn on, red standby light constantly on, clicking on and off relentlessly (2 sec on, 2 sec off)
Power supply voltages are all there during the ON phase of the clicking cycle. I know the power supply is working because I have a working a650 which use identical power supply. See below solved thread.

So that narrows it down to the mainboard. The a610 mainboard also looks the same as the a650 as shown, although couldn't find any shorts like i...Last edited by syaoran123; 07-22-2018, 10:24 AM.

Re: LA52A650A red standby light blinking, no clicks
PROBLEM SOLVED!
Unfortunately, the link didnt contain a matching board to the one i have.
Fortunately, I managed to trace the shorted 13V pin down to a shorted smd capacitor on the back of the mainboard. Just a single capacitor change solved the entire problem. It was C1174 with a value of 10uF replaced with an electrolytic capacitor of 50V rating.
Hope this helps someone else....
