Expertise needed 2 diagnose issue w horizontal lines

    SOS...!
Hoping some1 can spare some expertise on this problem... I have a LG 55LW6500-TA and was watching TV last week. All of a sudden the picture turned into pink thin moving horizontal lines across the entire screen. (Unless there's an external reset button I'm not aware of ) I'm unable to reset the tv as I can't see the menu. On the weekend I took the back off and had a look at the boards - couldn't see anything 'burnt' or any domed capacitors. There was what appeared to look like a 'clot' on one of the ribbons leading from the T-con board to the panel (bottom of the Tv) so I softly rubbed it before turning the tv back on. It now starts with the pink lines for a few seconds but then changes to green / white flickering lines on a black background. As it warms up it tries to display a picture but doesn't quite get there so ends up looking like white flickering abstract images on the screen. I read a comment indicating that horizontal lines usually indicates a bad panel however was holding onto hope given the panel responded to this last action. Any suggestions to pinpoint the issue would be greatly appreciated. The tv's around 4.5-5 yrs old but I've only had it for 6 months and can't afford a replacement. I have recorded it if that'll help. Apologies for the length of this post & thank you in advance!

A photo may prove useful in helping to diagnose.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

      Hello Everyone,
I have a LG 55LW6500 TV and it stopped working suddenly. I had it connected to a computer via HDMI and I was watching a video on YouTube. All of a sudden TV turned off and then it came back on (just the front LED indicator light) but no picture, no sound and no backlights.

So far, I have checked the power supply voltages and they are correct. I checked the LED backlights by jumping the connectors on power supply board and they are good. Now I think the main board is faulty. Unfortunately LG is not making EBT61555001 main board anymore and I am unable to find it anywhere (not even used one).

Is there any other main board which I can use to get this TV running again?

All I want is TV to turn on and connect my computer via HDMI.

      Thanks

If there is no replacement available, you'll have to troubleshoot the MB to the component level.

If you can force the backlights on by isolating the BL-ON wire going back to the main board first and have all other cables back in place and able to get the backlights on but still no images on the screen; that means you have more than just bad BL-ON problem, as indicated, you will need the schematic to troubleshoot down to the component level to find the cause of the problem.
