    Sony KDL-50W656 vertical colored lines

    Sony KDL-50W656 has colored vertical lines, they change color when getting into menus with remote, etc ...

    What could be wrong, panel gone bad?

      Yes this could be a bad panel....However, first I would, before concluding that this is actually the case.....clean and re-seat the LVDS cable from the Main Bd to the T-CON Bd and the Flat cables from the T-CON Bd to the panel. Of course, doing these re-seats with the power OFF.

          Ok, I re-seated cables, but problem remains. Contacted some service here, they said it's possible t-con problem, t-con is not simple to replace, it's integrated on display board ... they said to deliver tv to them, and they'll see if it's repairable...

              Hello everyone,

              I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

              Hello,

              i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :




              With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :




              I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

              Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

              Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

              5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source.               Hi guys…I need your help. My cousin ask me to fix her tv. The tv when I went to pick up showed 3 horizontal black line. So I know it was a bad panel issue but I could try to fix with the tape method so I said her I could fix easy.
