Picked up this tv that had no backlights, which after testing, determined to be a bad eeprom. I ordered a replacement from SJ and installed it. I now have a perfect picture.....except that it is upside down. I accessed the service menu but can't find an option to flip the image. Anyone know what setting it is? I've attached a pic of the service menu options.

What I should have said is if you select LVDS Map does it allow you then to select the correct panel type.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

No. The options are default, 6 bit a, 6bit b, 8 bit a, etc. When I changed it to 8 bit the picture became distorted.Comment

Re: RCA 46LB45RQ Inverted picture after eeprom replacement.
Was a solution ever found for this problem? I have the same issue with an RCA LED46C45RQ. I replaced EEPROM with a preprogrammed device to correct a power up issue. That corrected the original problem, but image is flipped. I have all of the same menus as shown in this post but I cannot find anything about HV flip. I presently drive the TV with a PC that I use as a DVR. I have inverted the output of that unit so I can watch TV right-side up, but all of the TV generated service menus are upside down.Comment

Might be in service menu--general settings--mirror control, might get in service menu by pressing menu and keying in 1147.Comment

Re: RCA 46LB45RQ Inverted picture after eeprom replacement.
Thanks for the input. I have been all through the service menu. Mine look just like the ones shown earlier in this thread. I can't find anything that will do it. I believe you are correct that a firmware update is the only way to go.Comment

by RauniHello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.
My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)
Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).
Read also that we should test what happens if we... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
I got a 58pus7805 that shows some weird behavior.
The menu and remote work fine and the picture is looking crisp and flawless while navigating the menu.
However, when a video source is displayed the screen either goes solid green (HDMI), solid black (SAT TV) or shows some fragments on mostly green background (AVI Playback from USB).
I tried to reinstall the firmware through the menu which was rejected saying it already had the latest version.
I managed to install the latest official firmware by holding the control button while plugging... -
by GoldenmonkeyMy samsung plasma pn59d530a3f recently had a loud pop and stopped working. after opening it up, I found a blown resistor and capacitor on the power supply board. The circuit board was damaged where the resistor connects so I opted to buy a replacement board.
after installing the replacement power supply, the tv powers up but has no picture. The electronics store I bought the power supply from said the next likely culprit could be the Y Main board.
Is there a way to test the Y Main board before just buying a replacement? Or if there are other areas I should check?

by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... - Loading...
