LG 50pj350-UB Has Sound, But No Picture

My LG 50pj350-UB has sound but no picture, I have replaced both the Y and the Z Sustain board, still no picture...HELP!!!!
P.S. before i replaced theses board i would turn tv on/off several times to get picture, eventually that failed. After searching the web i found that the y and z sustain was the cause. Thanks in advanced.

Mainboard prolly, run the test patterns.

Prolly = probably. If you do a search for "run test pattern" on this forum will give you more information.

no problem...i did do a search for running test pattern for my LG 50pj350-UB but, came up with no information.

service manual attached have a read it should tell you how to run the patterns etc

Most of the information you need is on this forum some times you have to try different search terms if that makes sence.

not sure what control board your set uses? but on some you can generate test patterns on the tv by connecting the 2 holes beside R51 and R52 on the control board. Make sure you disconnect the lvds cable.

Update:
i was unable to generate a test pattern after proforming in steps in the training manual. does this mean that the power supply or the main board is bad?
P.S. no standby light after disconnecting the SMPS and LVDS cables, the relay does click when is plugged in. Thanks

just for future refrence for new users correct way too get test patterns

PANEL TEST: Disconnect P301,
Remove LVDS Cable. Short across
Auto Gen TPs to generate a test
pattern. When A/C power is applied





I havnt worked on many plasmas but im sure a more experienced member will advise soon in the meantime if theres a flow chart for faults try following that and see what board it suggests

i wonder if a bad buffer board can cause this as you do have sound

There is a heap of information on checks to do on plasma sets posted recently. Measure all voltages Vs Va etc plus those at connectors and post your results.
