Re: SHARP LC-60E79U display goes from washed out very grainy to white

I think it can't be a gamma correction problem 'cause the image is variably blotched / stained, and also those stains are present with tcon flat cables disconnected, surely no gamma circuitry are on the edge boards, never seen so and no reason to be so..
another way to diagnose is to spray freezer on the tab drivers, especially those at the sides.. before this check the temperature on them, if too high spray can break them.

Re: SHARP LC-60E79U display goes from washed out very grainy to white

i do appreciate all the help

i really dont want to put much inot this tv...its not worth it nowadays

tvs are dispiosable........before i scrap it i just wanted to make sure it wasnt some other issue that can be repaired....

a bad panel for the most part is not repairable nor even worth the time nowadays

the reason why im stubborn is that a few yrs ago everyone told me my 50 zenith plasma tv panel was bad....i had 2 same models doing same thing and all responses were panel bad

well ....i stuck to my guns and it wasnt a bad panel it was bad buffer boards which i bought but were actually bad from shop jimmy.....but in the end i fixed both tvs which would have been tossed in trash

so it does seem bad panel here but i want to make sure 100%

      or at least 99% lol

i really dont get into tvs anymore since its just not worth it to me.....now that new tvs are so cheap.dime a dozen....i used to tinker a lot but very little anymore..just trying to clean house on wanna b projects that need to be dealt with or tossed out...decluttering

Re: SHARP LC-60E79U display goes from washed out very grainy to white

i believe 2 yrs ago when i last worked on this tv i did look at the boards that are on bottom of tv and they were not touching any metal ..i think i even put some material in between to make sure and it did nothing....and i believe i did test power from ps going to tcon and it was good..and thats why i bought the replacement tcon board....which was used.....but we all know that buying used boards does not mean they are good....what i need to do is test the test points like the other guy said and if they seem ok then that would rule out tcon board

Without a circuit diagram you could look at the voltages on the level shifter MAX17079 and see if they match or at least follow the expected voltages. Eg Vcc, VH1, VH2, Vcom, VL2, VL1, VLS as shown on the datasheet.

            Also Sharp 200WNA1 regulator

I don't understand.. from a post seems that you don't want to investigate further, but in the next you ask for advices.. Which one is??
The card has no TP marked so has to be put a little patience, i have to read the MAX17126A datasheet, the voltages generator, i don't know the function of max17079... the other Maxim chip is difficult to read.. which one is gamma correction?

Anyway, (1,2) have to be around 16V, (3) 3,3v, (4) -6V (i have indicated the other terminal that is at gnd, sorry), (5) 27V...

Is this white-washed screen caused by a faulty T-Con board or panel? Sharp Aquos c70le735x
                  by thesharpfella
Hello esteemed gentlemen. I have owned this LCD TV since 2012. The only repair was the replacement of the PSU a few years ago. Apart from that, no issues. Recently, all was working fine until I switched on to see it appear as so. The day before it was working fine. There is sound. Could this be a T-Con board issue? If not, what could it be? Thank you.

                  Sharp LC60E79u 2 blinks power/3 Blinks OPC
                  by Anzio
I have a Sharp LC-60E79U with the blinking light error (Power and OPC blink 2 times together then OPC blinks 1 time. I read the previous thread on Sharp lc60e79u (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...t=66913&page=3) with this same issue, but no resolution was posted.

The service manual indicates this as a “DET_5V (33pin) error (L). 5V is not applied.”

I cannot enter service mode by pressing input and channel down and plugging the unit in to power outlet. However, I can override and enter the diagnostic mode if press channel down and volume up and...

LG 55UP7000PUA washed out and dim
                  by x_orange90_x
So I've got this 55UP7000PUA that has a very washed out and dim image. I've played with all of the settings, turned brightness to 100 as well as panel backlight, made sure no eco settings are on, etc. It looks like the backlight is at 50% or even less. I've been reading online that this is a pretty bad model with poor contrast and image retention issues, but I haven't seen anyone say it's dim like this. I've seen quite a few LGs with bad backlights before and they are usually blue. This doesn't appear blue, just washed out and dim. I've likewise never seen ANY backlights simply dim as a failure....

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                  by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                  by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...
