    Technika lcd42-207 humming, buzzing sound

    Hi all again
Been given this tv to play with, its was going in skip
TV all seems to work fine but has a humming sound coming from speakers, if sound is high it is not that noticeable but when the sound is low its there and it is annoying
Took back cover off expecting to see some bulged leaky caps but everything looks fine, therefore with my limited knowledge I would not have any idea where to look next, any ideas please where to start looking, Power board is a 17PW16-2
will post pics as soon as they upload from my camera to pc

They might not be bulging or leaking but as it's a Vestel I'd suspect some of those caps are the culprit.
I fixed a smaller Vestel recently with a hum from the speakers by replacing a few of the caps. Check the 3 green ones (IIRC 1000uf) with an ESR tester and the 2 at the top of the mainboard.

Test caps for esr on the mb, also the inverters Ive had cause a slight buzzing when the caps on it fail.

First, is the hum on the speakers from all inputs tried.
Can you hear it on the headphone out.
Do you have access to an oscilloscope to look at the input /output of the audio IC

Look hard at capacitors next to a heat sink. Caps can look fine on the outside, but still be bad, specifically the little ones. You need an ESR meter.

If my memory is correct I think someone had a similar problem on another thread in this forum where they cured the fault after resoldered all the pins on the audio chip.

ok just done a naughty one, I have taken some 1000 35v caps off a scrap board and changed the 3 mainboard caps, just fired it up with no inputs connected yet and noise seems to have gone, it was noisy before with no inputs connected, will get it all back together and try it again

ok all back together humming buzzing gone so looks like it was those mainboard caps, even though i have put on used caps, should probably replace them with new but think will leave these while its ok

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Phillips 32PFL4507/F7B humming sound, no power
                          by jackal68
                          Hi

Im trying to fix this Phillips 32" led tv, 32PFL4507/F7B. There is a humming sound when the power plug is connected. The humming goes away when I disconnect the cable from the powerboard to the mainboard. The humming seems to be around the mosfet/330uf capacitor area of the powerboard.

I have taken out the mosfet and tested it with a DMM and it seems to be fine. I also checked the voltages going to the mainboard and they're totally off. I'm not getting 3.3v standby (no light at the front), where it is supposed to be 24v, i'm getting 2.3v, and where it is supposed...

Laptop No Longer Recognizes TV Sound Bar
                          by niimi93
I'll begin with the fact I don't know what change I made to my laptop that triggered this cause. I use my laptop as a pseudo PC by just connecting it to my big smart TV and using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I have a sound bar connected to the TV via optical audio toslink cable. I have game consoles connected to the TV. The game consoles and Netflix/other media apps installed on the smart tv all work properly playing sound through my sound bar with no issues. My laptop, until recently, was playing sound through the TV sound bar just fine as well. I don't know what change I made, and I don't...

Lexmark 544dn power supply buzzing sound model 40x5409
                          by xl600
I have a Lexmark 544DN laser printer which I'd prefer not to throw away. I know I can buy a new power supply for about $150, but the printer isn't even worth that at this point.

The printer started acting up about a year ago. Sometimes it would power on normally, sometimes not. When if failed, it would make a single 'click', flash the LED and display backlight, then go completely dark. I got used to this but now it refuses to power on no matter how nicely I talk to it.

Having a workbench, o-scope, and all sorts of fancy tools, I figured I might try to find the issue myself....

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
                          by jchang
                          Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                          Symptom:
                          No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                          No sound at all.

                          What I tried:
                          1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
