Ok those tabs that hang by themselves. Not the ones with the green boards connected to them, but one ones on the side of the panel.. Any look melted or burned where the small rectangular IC is embedded?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Basically what you have going on is there is a short on the non working side of the panel in most likely it's because of the failed gate drivers on that side. These are the small tabs that hang off the right hand side of the panel.

Sharp is notorious for this problem. If you follow some of the forums that detail about sharp LCD panels in their flaws, you will see how to rectify this. It requires the removal of those tabs hanging off the side of the nonworking side. I can't guarantee that this is going to fix your symptom but it's a start since you have no other alternative because your panel is obviously shorted so you're taking a bad situation and either rectifying it or not but in its present state it's most likely unrepairable without doing this "surgery"

            Hi Guys
Thanks for all your inputs ,i have opened the lcd to its wafer and put it back same issue , only thing is that I have the side covers still out since its the outside frame ,the bottom ribbon that connects to lcd gets hot (the side that has problem) the other side stays cool
I didnt see and burn marks on the side ribbons .
I might have to change the LCD any idea where I can get this ?

basically, you will unlikely find a replacement panel from less than $1.5K unless perhaps a "discarded set". You might be able to "save" the existing panel as suggested by removing the "offending tabs" on the side in question.

Could you snap a picture of the tab that's getting hot?

this is the burnt part which is on lower part where the ribbon connects to the lcd .Is that a way to replace this soldered ribbons ?i dont know it uses some type of glue , this is the main ribbon that supplies signal to green board on lcd
                  thanks guys

That's bad. That's a source driver. There's no economical way to replace it. It's part of the LCD panel.

Technically you might be able to remove that ribbon from both sides of the board and the panel but you will be missing a 2 inch bar on the very right side. But tv may work again.

Sony KD-75XF9005 grey Picture but Sound. TCON or panel?
                      by iglitare
                      Hi,

i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.

Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                      by kca
                      Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Sony KD-65x8500b - bad Tcon or panel?
                      by rimwall
Hi, hoping for some views on this one which I've not come across before. The TV generates an image that has 12 noticeable bands across it. The image is still there and accurate, but the colour (or perhaps the brightness) changes gradually across each band which creates a noticeable 'step change' at the edge of each band. Given it's a 4K TV with 2160 rows of pixels, I'm guessing the 12 bands correspond to 12 gate drivers of 180 rows each. If this guess is right, then perhaps:
                      a) all the gate drivers are malfunctioning the same way (which seems unlikely), or
                      b) the Tcon board is malfunctioning,...

Sony KD-70X690E Bravia; Bad TCON? Bad panel?
                      by swrb898
What's wrong with my TV: the TCON, the panel, or something else? I'm stuck.

                      Problem:

Last week, my Sony KD-70X690E 70" stopped displaying a picture. The TV powers on, and the back lights power on. However, the TV doesn't seem to boot up. I say this because the SONY splash-screen logo does not display, nor does any picture display, nor can I invoke a menu by pressing "Menu" on the remote. Other than back-light bleed, the screen is black.

My troubleshooting got me this far:

With the left-hand TCON to bottom-board ribbon cable...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                      by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
