    Thank you for the remark!

    I did a DC measurement with the (-) led on the negative leg of capacitor C6501 and (+) led on one of the legs of fusible resistor R6500. Both read 389V DC when the tv is turned on (green indicator led). To be able to perform the measurement, I needed to disconnect the inverter board.

    I inspected it and everything looks very proper to me.

          What voltages do you have at the connector?

            Re: Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 backlight issue

            I did the following DC measurements for connector CN6154 (connection with logic board):

            * NC: 0V
            * DIMMER: 0V
            * BACK_LIGHT_ON: 2V
            * INV_ERROR: 0V
            * GND: 0V
            * BALANCER_ERR: 0V

            But some values change 3 times for a few seconds, the third time the tv shuts down and the led starts blinking red 6 times. When the values change you can also hear some kind of "buzz" sound. Each time the values change to:

            * NC: 2.5-3V
            * DIMMER: 2.5-3V
            * BACK_LIGHT_ON: 0-0.5V
            * INV_ERROR: 0V
            * GND: 0V
            * BALANCER_ERR: 0V

              In your first post you said:-

              CN6701 connector (to balancer board):
              * 12VCC
              * FB
              * FB
              * LD
              * LD
              All these read 0V DC.
              Did you also mean that the 12V pin was also 0V when you measured it?

              All the other voltages you have provided appear to be OK.
              Do the backlights flash when you first turn the set on because at that time the backlight control signal is switched on.

              When the red led is flashing do the voltages at CN6701 change?

              Can you post a photo of your inverter board

                Yes, that is correct.

                No, the screen remains pitch black.

                No, they stay at the same values as when the green led is on.

                See attachement: because the board is so large, I took a picture for both the lower and upper part.

                  Re: Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 backlight issue

                  OK, so it appears that your problem is that no 12V supply to the inverter board.
                  If you unplug CN6701 and measure the 12V line again and see if it is there. It may be loaded down by the inverter.

                  Edit
                  It should be there because you also quoted CN6150 as having 3 x 12V outputs and the 12V supply to the inverter should come from the same generated 12V supply that feed them. It may be worth checking to see if you have any 0 ohm resistors which may have gone open circuit on the underside of the power supply pcb.

                    Hello Team,

                    I'm back with another backlight issue that I thought was simple, but it turned out to be more complex than expected.

                    Let me provide a brief history: The TV was working well, then one day, the backlight started and shut down. I thought I had an LED issue leading to this behavior, so I replaced the LEDs with brand new ones. However, the issue remains the same.

                    Next, I replaced the electrolytic capacitors attached to the LED power supply, but the results were the same. I then replaced the driver, a OB3365RP, and did it twice due to the same result....

                    iPad Pro 12.9 5th Gen Backlight Issue
                    by cheebster
                    Hello, got an iPad Pro A2378 12.9 5th gen with no backlight. Got another test unit without screen, tested the screen, still no backlight with the test unit.
                    Figured out the backlight on the screen was bad, ordred a new backlight from mobilesentrix, *carefully replaced it* without damaging the lcd, oh well.
                    Final result, issue is still there, the screen has no back lights. So i'm back to square one, with 3 hours less and 100$ out, issue still on the screen.
                    The panel is still ok, i can see the apple in the middle of the screen when it kicks in, just no backlight.
                    Anyone...

                    TCL 65C715 backlight issue

                    Hello team,

                    I'm back with another topic.
                    It's a 65C715 TCL tv with backlight issue.

                    But the problem is a bit strange.
                    When I took this tv from the marketplace backlight didn't work but picture was ok.
                    Back at home I checked with led tester if led are alive and I can find something different in term of voltage supply => nothing

                    Putting all back together the tv worked fine for weeks. => Contact issue??

                    Few moment later the tv has started to have backlight issue back, turning off and on worked sometimes and tv was working....

                    Issue with picture quality of Sony bravia TV
                    by CyberPhoenix
                    Hello, Last week I bought the 50" Sony X80j tv everything was working fine, untill I plugged the tv in a ups power supply 650va the tv remote control became unresponsive and the TV became laggy after a while the picture quality isn't the same as before the tv seems less brighter and the picture is somehow blurry, people's faces don't look as natural as before, there is a mini orange-pink tint to the edge of people's faces especially in NETFLIX Dolby Vision like in One Piece ep1 Alvida skin tone, my intention was to protect the tv but something went wrong I checked the ups with a multimeter,...

                    Back Story
                    I just recently purchased a RZ09-01652 Razer Blade 14 Touch v4(2016) as a project. I suspect the original motherboard had overheated and caused board damage to the vrm's for the CPU and GPU as now that motherboard works however will lockup on you often due to hardware clock issues.
                    So after some research and looking at options for replacement motherboards I got a replacement RZ09-01952 razer blade 14 motherboard which has the 1060 vs the 970m that was in my original motherboard. I have contacted the seller about the motherboard being bad however I doubt they will be...
