Yes this is the board i recapped as pictured in my first post ..

What pictures you see in my first post is whats in the tv now as it was bought from new.

Again what confused me, i was informed that you can switch the 17pw26-3 with a 17pw26-4 or 17pw26-2. You just have to make sure the replacement is from a 37 to 42" Tv as they have a 450v Pollycap and larger transformers.

It may be worth trying a replacement EEPROM. Speak with Ohms Supply and see if it is a suitable replacement for your mainboard.

Hi Dick . Ty for that link ...

It looks like a spider lol.

So if the voltages are correct and the psu is working that means the main boards at fault ?. The psu failing has corrupted the EEPROM ?.

Ive had a few motherboards where the bios chips needed replacing and thats as far as my knowledge goes.

As mentioned i do get items brought to me to fix and mostly i am succesfull.

Recently ive had to change out a bad vid cable on a hp DV7. and change out cfl tubes in a monitor. Tracing faults on electrical boards etc leaves me bewildered .

Is there a fuse or something similar on the main board i can check ?.

Pw82 42" is compatible with any other PW26 for 42" model so thats not the fault.

Yeah, Im sure you know that the 26-32" Versions have a smaller transformer while they will work with the mainboard they wont be able to power the backlight of a 42" might be able to get away with a 37" but 42" it will abort due to over current at start. But the 42" version of this supply will power all 26-42" versions of these Tv's with the same mainboard connector

Had alook at service settings . see Pictures.

The hotel option is set as yes and grayed out "cant be switched to no"

I went into the programming section and uploaded pic of settings in there too.

I have not adjusted any settings .

The problem with this tv has me tearing my hair out.

I get no sound or video inputs eg hdmi, scart etc. yet in the menue screens i can adjust the picture/ volumes/ pip/pap settings, everything is still user adjustable. There is no DTV at all. I cant remember the dtv because ive always used a HDMI freeview set top box with recording functions built into it.I forgot that this TV even had a freeview tuner built into it.

When this tv went off , I had my laptop connected to it through HDMI , i was reinstalling my laptop with an image created earlier. I left the room to come to my gamer pc , when i went back the tv has the problem mentioned here.

just re read your thread you say

i wonder if the laptop re booted and somehow sent a voltage through the hdmi lead? that has now blown a part or corrupted the eeprom?
