My LG PLasma lower y-Buffer went out again? why

    Hi All
hoping i can get some idea with what is wrong with my LG plasma 50PA6500. worked fine for 2 years with no issues then last month i turned it on and got sound but no picture,

searched online i found out its the Y-Sustain board that could be bad, ordered a new one and replaced it but still same issue,so it was not the Y-sustain board, then i checked both y-buffer boards and lower one was the culprit there was one short IC in lower y-buffer board as i checked with an old analogue multi meter, Ordered a new lower y-buffer board and after i replaced the lower Y-buffer board i got a picture on the Display, but next day i turn it on and there was no picture again, just sound, it was the lower y-buffer board that went out again.

What is causing the y-buffer board to go out even with a new Y-sustain board? do i need to order and replace both top and lower y-buffer boards or something is wrong with the power supply/Z-boards? can any one help me to identify the problem??

Could be bad panel ribbons on this model. Im aware the panel ribbons have a habbit of shorting on these and killing the buffer. Could also be bad Zbias cause by cold solder joints on Zsus.

I agree. Check the solder joints under the copper coils on the board. Check every solder joint under there. Fresh lead solder never hurts.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

I picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.

The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board...

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...
