However after moving several times, The bottom 1/4 of the screen has been pushed up and the picture looks as if everone has stubby little legs....ROTFLMAO!!!!! Does anyone know if there is a way to resolve this issue???????????

    Re: RCA G27391WK Please Help!!!

In august I repaired a TV SET 21" Mivar (italian brand) and it has the lower part of the screen completely black and images were compressed in 3/4 of the top screen.
    In my case I found a 2200uF 16V ruined.

If your problem depends on the moving the TV from a place to another, I would check all internal connectors and joint/tracks: if there are heavy components like transformer or big caps maybe moving too much the TV has cause them cracking joint/tracks.
Look also if there are components/cable touching each other when they should not.

        Roughly translated:

Open up the set and look for damaged capacitors (leaking goo at the top or bottom). Look for anything that looks burnt up, look for anything that may have some how worked itself loose.

If you can't find anything, take some digital photos of the screen problem and some close up shots of the circuit boards, post them here, and I bet someone will be able to further direct you!

Hold on, going to look up on that model number to determine which chassis and possibly advise you. I work on RCA often.

It's like me saying use laymens terms to discuss the reasons my engine light is on.
You have to know where the verticle deflection section is.It's next to the horizontal section.
Set up mirror to watch screen while reaching in with insulated device to tap that area while watching if screen returns to normal.
No change? cold spray each component. no change? resolder everything, no change? replace cap and verticle drive IC.Well that should do it.
            See how simple it is.
            Piece of cake.

@ kingshanley: I'm sorry my explanation was too tech for you, anyway I see MixMasta has translated it.

arneson has written the way I would follow to repair TV.

a chassis number is the most helpful.
if it has slowly gotten this way its probably just a few dried out caps

                  Re: RCA G27391WK Please Help!!!

I finally got around to look up. CTC169, very good chassis back then and high good repair rate.

This is VERY unique vertical circuit design. PWM chop with a SCR on small heatsink on the horizontal pulses power from flyback transformer (isolated from others) using a LM311 opamp. Extremely reliable. Resolder the area and replace one big cap (I bet it exploded or swollen). 2200uF 35V

LM311 samples the two ramps created from two R/C via constant current one from fly (horizontal pulses) and one vertical pulses from the jungle IC and send out PWM pulses to SCR. That all. There are two small capacitors by that big cap, change these as well just in case.

Trace the smaller plug of two on the yoke back to the chassis board, it's in the front hidden by the plate heatsink for the horizontal transistor.
You will know you are in right place when u have grey or blue giant retangular plastic capacitor near two wires for vertical wires plug.

You should know this TV is now over 15 years old or more?

                  Cheers, Wizard

That is not laymans terms unless he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
And just maybe the network had the Oompa loompas on and the legs really were short.

                      by Tbfm
                      Hi all.

I bought this LCD TV back in 2008 new and has worked and looked awesome since day one until about 8 months ago when these moving green and magenta dots started showing up that would move with the picture displayed seemingly with certain displayed colours often with whites.

The pixels appear in the system menu displays so I am certain that its not any kind of faulty cables or bad hdmi, and also removed/reseated and cleaned the LVDS cable with no change.

I have looked all over Badcaps and the internet in general for people with similar issues...

                      by alessa
                      I noticed a problem,

There is a distrtion around the moving elements due to the movement interpolation (soap opera effect) which is not very well managed.

my problem is not the soap effect which doesn't bother me at all, it's just this kind of pixel / distortion effect around moving objects or actors. I ask this question because I think it could be adjusted via a service menu or firmware.

I managed to access the service menu and I do not really see what to do to improve the thing.

                      Hi Everyone,

I have brought to you a strange problem display maybe you have some ideas how it can be fixed or what could cause such a problem.
                      Display Type: B173ZAN01.1
                      MANUFACTURER: AU Optrinics

Changed the cable and tried to bend, push the back f the screen and both problem persists, nothing changes.
There is no any sign that the back of the screen was under pressure, or has moving cables.

PROBLEM 1:. Red spots / area in the screen

                      by GobonTalBzar
I have a Samsung UE46F6500 SDXZT with the bottom half of the screen showing purple lines and sort of a lower resolution. These lines appear and disappear in response to motion on any part of the screen. For example they will appear below any popups (no signal etc) and moves sideways to stay below the location of the popups. Screensh1.jpg and Screensh2.jpgshows the issue and Samsung_Problem.zip is a video of the issue as it happens.

I've tried replacing the TCON board but nothing changed. Wiggling the connections doesn't seem to affect anything on screen.

                      I've attached...

Samsung UE55ES6800 - Vertical Lines (moving)
                      by Billsy
                      Hi all

I picked up a UE55ES6800 with bad colours to the whole screen and some faint lines on the left side. I found a burnt COF tab on the left/bottom so removed all the left side tabs. This fixed the colour issue but the vertical lines remain. The lines only appear in conditions where there's a bright object in the lower left corner area. All connections are clean and secure. I guess this is either a side effect of removing the tabs or there's a bad bond on the bottom edge? What do you think? Is there any hope for this panel?

                      Many thanks...
