Samsung UE55ES6800 - Vertical Lines (moving)
Hi all
I picked up a UE55ES6800 with bad colours to the whole screen and some faint lines on the left side. I found a burnt COF tab on the left/bottom so removed all the left side tabs. This fixed the colour issue but the vertical lines remain. The lines only appear in conditions where there's a bright object in the lower left corner area. All connections are clean and secure. I guess this is either a side effect of removing the tabs or there's a bad bond on the bottom edge? What do you think? Is there any hope for this panel?
Many thanks...

Re: Samsung UE55NU8000T Main Board GB only???
Brilliant thanks William. I just confirmed that Italy option is present on a set here. I'm using the "smarttv rc" app to enter the advanced service menu
Thanks again

Samsung UE55NU8000T Main Board GB only???
Hi All
I sent a main board BN94-12926P to a chap in Italy. He has installed it and done a factory reset using the service menu. At initial setup, the only country options are Ireland and GB. Is there a way for him to change to Italy?
Many thanks

Re: Toshiba 55L7453D - Vertical Lines
Thanks for the help guys. I had another poke around and found the culprit. The ribbon that sits between the main board and whatever the central board is, needed recleaning. I must have introduced some muck first time round. Now works perfect
Thanks again

Toshiba 55L7453D - Vertical Lines
All the best everyone
Can anyone help with my first Toshiba repair?
Was getting a good picture for a few seconds. I have successfully repaired the backlight and when re-assembled, was just getting funky shapes on the screen so gave all the ribbons a good clean and now there's no picture just vertical lines. I've re-cleaned the ribbons a couple of times with no effect. removing the tcon-panel ribbons just blanks the respective side of the display.
Any tips for these sets?
Thanks...

Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display
Thanks freak. Did you see the photo in post 53? So yeah looking through the AVS forums confirms what you're saying. It may or may not improve. Sounds like theres a chance the banding may be caused by the 2000h comp cycle so I won't be forcing it to happen
All the best

Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display
I'm back guys
A quick update and a couple of questions. So after a around 5 hours of run time the posterization has gone and now the picture is great.
I've only run the set for around 90 mins at a time as the screen is getting hot. Do OLEDs run hot? What screen temperature should I expect? It's currently 41c after 30 mins.
The thing I'm most unhappy about is the vertical banding. It's quite obvious sometimes. Is there a way to correct this like a manual pixel refresh/compensation cycle??...

Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display
The RCoid app I am using already has the EZ-ADJUST and IN_STOP commands.
EZ-ADJUST menu comes up without needing a code. I didn't adjust anything, just powered off and on again.
IN_STOP flashed up a message momentarily then powered off like you said. When powered on, went through first time installation.
So what are you thinking? Could there be a problem still?

Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display
So I plugged in the usb receiver for my wireless mouse then switched on the TV and its working perfectly! Didn't need to do anything else. It's playing a movie from a memory stick as I type. Do you think the usb triggered something or has it just decided to self calibrate or something?

Yes theres one LED from what I can see LD11401. It is red and is iluminated when TV is powered up.

The only item I have is the original remote for the broken screen TV.
I have now tried with the Samsung adapter with scart connected to a working hitachi set and couldnt get anything through to the hitachi.Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display

Re: LG 55EC930V OLED - 3 Second Power No Display
Diah I've not been doing this for very long. I see the socket for the scart adapter. I only have a Samsung adapter so would need to order one.
I can however confirm that a MAC address IS being generated by the TV via LAN!!
I am here to learn and I thank you all for your support.
Cheers
