Good day folks. I've recently fixed a 42 inch Philips plasma display (or so I thought) which had 2 shorted FETs that drive the Vs. Trouble is the repair only lasted a few days: now the same FETs are dead-shorted again (along with the fuse, of course). The power board is a Samsung ps-424-ph (I can provide photos if need be), but what could be overloading the Vs bus to cause such behaviour in the first place ? The X/Y boards have their fuses intact. Does this happen when PDPs get old and begin drawing more power ? The FETs are FQA24n60.

Re: Philips plasma keeps blowing VS FETs (Samsung ps-424-ph PSU)
Did you replace the driver for the transistors and related capacitors for it ? have serviced a few of them supplies one with shorted pfc fets. I replaced all surrounding capacitors (smaller ones) and the driver for it the caps go high esr causing a noisy input to the controller and it will see a lower in put in general which can throw the controller off and cause it to throw a wobbly killing the fets.
My advise replace the controller and smaller capacitors in that area. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Anyone Doing So Will Be Banned Instantly !

Re: Philips plasma keeps blowing VS FETs (Samsung ps-424-ph PSU)
Here's the PSU in question - rings any bells ? The FETs are on the heatsink right next to the green transformer at the middle-top. The controller is the riser to the right of that. I'm guessing the cap I should've replaced is that small one next to the riser. There's also a solid polymer one on the riser itself...Wattevah...Comment

by G33RTPhilips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.
It does power up when pressing the power button.
I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.
Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ? -
by sam_sam_samAbout a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well
Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for
Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the āEā stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer... -
by aidanmoHello,
I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.- Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
- Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
- Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar

by grimacelordHello,
Have an Xbox One S here that has a short on the 12V power rail. There is no power, beep, or partial fan spin when connecting power cable.
After diagnosing with thermal camera, Q9F1 MOSFET (NTTFS4C50N) is getting hot. When I remove this MOSFET, the short on the 12V rail disappears.
I first replaced Q9F1 with one from a donor board and then partially reassembled the Xbox to test. When I plugged the power cord in, I got a partial fan spin and I thought I had fixed it, but unfortunately, the Xbox still did not power on. So I then disassembled the Xbox... - Loading...
