    Re: Magnavox 32MF369B/F7 volume stuck

In earlier post 25 where you were testing resistance of switches, it looked like they were being tested across pads with no switches and you said you got 0 whether you pressed switch or not. Do the other buttons work?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

just read through the thread again and i'm not sure why it is 4 pages long.

can you resistance test the points that i highlighted, with and without the button pressed and report back thanks.

I went ahead and made a diagram of my readings. Have a look.

                  no power applied.
you are doing resistance tests (ohms), not voltage testing.
the buttons in question are the volume up and volume down.
we need the readings when button is pressed and when it is not pressed.

it's still on the paper I scanned. resistance testing, power off, buttons down & up, straight across

so your saying that both buttons are stuck on, what about all of the other buttons?

just looking over it again, you listed power off and power on, so i would assume you are applying power.

what are you saying by this then?

we need to get to the bottom this, so i have taken a few pics of what you should be seeing.

pic 1, no resistance across the button.
pic 2, power button pressed, low resistance shown.
pic 3, resistance across leads (with my croc clips attached), should be the same as when button is being pressed.

on a side note, i can't believe that i had 1.15 ohm resistance on the croc clips. :/

the issue that we may be having could be that the pin out on the buttons isn't actually running across it, but top to bottom, so try connecting your leads in that order and see if you can get an accurate reading.

just in case, this is not the same set of buttons as what you have, just a stock part.

Post #10 shows the probable pin connections. Two pins should be shorted together once you find those you then know that the remaining two pins are also connected together. Now you need to put your meter set to ohms between the two pair of connected pins. Press button and take an ohms reading. All carried out with the power off

jumping my tester leads shows 1.3 ohms.
as for the new readings, see the picture I just wrote out. for some reason, 'ch down' and 'menu' got cut off just a little.

You should look at the IR receiver board.
The push button board is mechanically contacts, simple on/off functions.

HP elitebook x360 1040 G5 Stuck at 'Entering setup menu...'
                                            by B83C
Received a faulty HP elitebook from my friend that does not boot up properly. The internal display is broken, so the only way to view the display output is via hdmi. However, when booted up the screen get stuck with 'Entering setup menu...' when esc is pressed upon booting. HP logo isn't displayed on bootup, only black screen, but an underscore cursor appear on top left corner of the screen. Has anyone any idea what could be the culprit here? I have flashed both the EC and BIOS flash but to no avail. The serial number is 5CG9377GCT, and below is the original flash content:

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
                                            by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

                                            I can't find any schematics...

                                            LG 55LM6200-TA country group/Area option
                                            by notallbad
This is a 2012 LG TV so aware full functionality of the smart functions/apps will be limited however currently unable to get the LG Smart Store.

Youtube, Netflix and LG Smart store icons briefly appear in the apps list but then automatically disappear after doing 'Initialisation of Premium' via the standard menu, I'm guessing this is due to the Country/Area group its set to is wrong for the UK.

Unable to change the country group, Area option can be changed which alters the country group but none make any difference. So believe its the country group that needs changing....

                                            Hello esteem members,
I have a JVC Television that fails to turn ON sometimes. The stand-by red light is always on. When the TV turns on the the JVC logo displays then the TV attempts to scan for local channels...it then freezes. If I unplug it, then it refuses to turn on - stand by light on. The power supply input voltages are present - 12V, with the backlight 0.32V when the TV refuses to turn on. Backlight voltage is 2.98V when TV does turns ON. All regulator chip has 3.3V on pin 8. Processor voltage - 1.02V, Ram - 1.5V. I am thinking about reflowing the on-board RAM. When the TV was...
