    Magnavox 32MF369B/F7 volume stuck

2 calls to magnavox and that was a joke.
Anyway, this tv has a problem there the volume is stuck on 100 and I can't access hardly anything in the menu. It's making it seem like a button is stuck, but the buttons move in and out freely. I was going to just disconnect the menu board and run a new remote, but the plug is soldered in and runs to another board, which runs to the main board, all soldered and not able to be simply disconnected. Like I said I have a new remote that needs to be programmed but I don't think that will work at this point. I have a video here of the menu issue and you can see it's stuck on 100 volume.
it's been sitting for months so that type of reset is bleak.

your video is set to private so we cant view it but it is possibly a stuck button i think you need to rule of the button board first so if possible unsolder it and try using a remote control.

video now works fine i certainly would try dissconecting the button board as my first test in fault finding.

alright I'll give it a shot. but if I desolder it which i have to and that doesn't solve it, am i no longer able to use that board?? because it's supposed to have long strands of solder so you could solder it.

most boards have a connector on so you can just unclip the board can you take some pictures and upload them so we can see what were dealing with.

Unsolder the button and test it, may be the quickest way without messing about with the cables.

maybe test each button with a multimeter see if any are stuck.

32MD301B/F7 i Have tactile button issue with mine they lock up too .Same thing with mine . I tested the switches on mine I get voltage drops when I push my buttons . I eventually got mine to work by fiddling with my built in dvd drive locks the controls somehow cause mine worked very well . I got mine to work temporarily for a couple days. Im at loss atm trying to fix .

well apparently this thing has an auto volume adjuster. problem is i can't get to it!
what do I set my multimeter to when i test? it's been a while
I haven't done anything yet...big carshow where I am and getting my car going again!

ok I went and tested this thing just now. here are my findings.
                              volume down .69
                              volume up .69
                              menu .69
                              channel down 1.05
                              channel up 1.40
looks like channel up is electrically stuck, but why is channel down in the middle?

I don't think you can test it like that. It may be providing a pulse train signal. Better to test each of the button contacts using your meter set to ohms with the set off.

                                  volume down 1.3
                                  volume up 1.3
                                  menu 1.4
                                  channel down 1.3
                                  channel up 1.4

They are tactile buttons and when pressed should read short circuit (0 ohms or just a few ohms) between 2 of the 4 connections and high when not pressed.
