Ok i pressed them all with the power still off and it doesn't affect the resistance readings at all.

I doubt if they are all faulty. Can you post a picture of the soldered in side.

Looking at the previous photo it looks as though two of the connections are soldered together on each side of the switch so should test as in the photo attached.

yea there's 4 points for each button. I get voltage on the ones towards the outside, and resistance reading on the ones spread out more on the inside.

With the set powered off, measure the ohms between each red circle in turn and the black arrow before and after you press the button that is soldered at that point.
Check your meter first by shorting the red and black probes together and checking the resistance is 0 ohms or very close to 0 ohms.

At this point my interest is in resistances only not voltage.

keep one probe where dick has marked with the black arrow then place the other probe on the red circle area note reading then press button and note reading do this with all buttons marked.ohms reading only no power to tv

oh duh.
ok i tested them all with the button pressed. they all measure 1.3

test them all with no buttons pressed are any of the readings different.

it doesnt register anything at the points circled

if thats the case the buttons seem ok so your issue could be on the mainboard?

maybe try a replacement mainboard if cheap enough (mainboards are hard to fault find a lot of the time you cant find the fault) so maybe look on ebay etc for a used board with warranty etc just make sure all the numbers etc match from your old board as diffrent lcd panels are used etc but wait for a while and see if other members have any other tests you can try first before you buy another board but get one with a returns policy if you do just in case arrive faulty.

So just to clarify when you measured with the buttons pressed you read 1.3 ohms on each button and without pressing the buttons you had no reading on any of them?

If the above is true then can you check the diodes with power off and meter set to diode mode. Take the first reading and then reverse the meter leads and take the second reading. Repeat for all the diodes on the board.

at the points circled, I read nothing, button pressed or not. at the points just behind them, I read 1.3 buttons pressed or not.

at the other points circled to test diodes, I read nothing. although there is nothing on the back end at those points

i think we have run out of ideas is a mainboard with button board attached expensive/available? if cheap enough and can get a exact match (as will need to match the lcd panel used in your tv) i would try a replacement board.

i dont know. it looks like it's all 1. from what I have posted though, does it seem like the button board is working properly? or is it malfunctioning a little
