    Panasonic Plasma TX-P42G15E 5 blinks

    Hi,
I'm owner of a Panasonic VIERA TX-P42G15E with 5 blinking led issue.

I've searched of any guide how to deal with this problem so at this moment I know that:

    - One transformator makes a humming noise after powering on TV, but afer 1-2 sec power supply turns off and LED starts to blink
    - Pin 1 on connector P35 isn't shorted
    - Pin 5 of connector P25 isn't shorted
    - There is around 5V on pin 5 of connector P25 (my multimeter lags so the highest voltage I can see before PSU turns off is about 4,5v)
    - Tried to swap PSU board but still 5 blinks.

Now I'm almost sure that A board is broken, but I cannot find that one with matching number from the sticker, only boards from G15B are availible (my board is TXN/A1DYUE and availible on ebay are TXN/A1DYUB)

Is there any way to fix this? I'm missing my good plasma

Nah--5V line issue will cause sos 5, monitored by pin 60 of micro....

Lots of stuff can cause that, the P board the SC and the SS could cause this fault.
--Disconnect the three ribbons from A board as well as the SC2 and P2, as well as the similar cable to the SS.

Test again check if it gives sos code or runs. Prolly runs, then check-

I'd check the SC board too, I have put up a chinese tech bulletin for SOS5 due to SC baord failure, try searching the sc board number maybe in the forum

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic P50VT20B Plasma 12 Blinks, Power Supply or A-Board?
        by Biruslapio
Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
