    HELP! Samsung PS51D450AW2 (S50HW-YB07) No sound No Image

    hello Great Minds,

    I need help troubleshooting this Tv

    Samsung PS51D450AW2 (S50HW-YB07) Manufactured 2011.03.12

    Voltage Present on the SMPS BOARD are (+15 and +5) also present on Logic, Main,X &Y Board
    Voltage missing on SMPS board are (Vs, & Va) reads 0v

    Responds to all button on remote but no sound, no image

    When X main Board is disconnected and powered on with source connected,.
    it flashes image on screen for a half sec then disappears. then Vs voltage goes up from 0 to 205v then goes down to 0 immediately.

    Help,...
    is the problem from my mainboard or the SMPS POWER board. or i need to start troubleshooting the X main board for defective caps and transistor?

    is it normal to hear little whistling from the SMPS board, right after the relay kicks in to power on the unit,,..? it sounds as if a cap is leaking. please help!

      After Troubleshooting all Board.
      here are my findings......
      I found 3 Bad Transistors on the X-Main Board.

              it a shame we only had 2 store here in my country and none has the transistor nor its replacement.
              Please help, is there any way to Convert or adapt another transistor to work with it.??

                  Normally there is 6 transistors that short on this Xmain. Are there any more blown first ?

                          The rest are not installed from factory I guess. I found only 2 Damaged.
                          6 was Pre-installed the rest holes are just there, i found nothing in it.

                              Any substitute?
                              I couldnt find it in my local store.

                                  the RJP30H1 is a 360v 200A IGBT in a to-220f package you should have no problem finding these (eBay)

                                      Regardless of shorts you should probably replace all the RJP30H1 transistors as they are probably in parallel and may have been damaged during the failure.
                                      Also as mentioned earlier by flocko ebay has dozens of sellers for these, or you can buy from utsource they sell internationally.

                                              Thank you all for your inputs.

                                              Today my Transistors arrives, i replaced the known damaged ones 2pcs and verify all connections i.e the flex ribbons and all other connectors.

                                              Voila.....

                                              It works..

                                                          I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                                          Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                                          I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                                          The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                                          With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                                          I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

                                                          I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

                                                          The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                                                          on the above model of samsung i have the faults i have told already on the title
                                                          iI have standby i can from remote control open and close the tv and it seems reacts the tv when i press someone button from remote control but and with the help of a torch i cannot see anything image on the tv and no sound
                                                          any idea from someone what can i measure so i can find the problem ?
                                                          the power supply is the bn44-00482a i cannot find the service manual so i can test if the leds are ok and maby these are the cause of my problem
