Heres a video showing how to fix this commonly failing Samsung inverter, trash design is what causes these to fail this badly. Hope this helps someone as these have a habit of blowing:

You mention AO4614 and show an ebay listing for AO4616 mosfets but the ones you fit look to be AO4618 ?

Don't mean to be picky just wanting to order some fets from China. Useful video as always.

Cheers buddy, I realised I have some AO4614. Got some of the SEM2107 controllers to. Give me a shout if you ever need parts. I've ordered some of those fuses.

Ee Gads, cheers for that, guess I'm lucky in getting a fair few of these POS 'sky-media-tek' tescos specials--usually buggered screens or mainboards so just change the b/l inverter complete!
I dont spend much time on these horrors as I cant get much more than about £80 for a good working one, the picture on 'em is pretty dog-ugly anyway, even though a fairly decent panel!

No worries Ali, also I can get £140 for em normally in fact sold one a few days ago for £140 I agree the image is shit and these Umcs you cant turn the Bl down which is stupid and the image settings well are just shit in the way they process it. Vestels that use this panel drive it alot better and it does look nicer.

Just a small observation - you don't want to teach people to feel the heatsinks with their hand while the TV is plugged in. Some of them are live.

hi reece it was nice watching your you tube video, fitting 1 of my kits, for a sec i thought you was going to call my kit crap, but lolzz you changed your mind,i need to add further tips please please take transformers out of circuit test them with inductor meter compare them with known good transformers and refit them,i had them where solder looks great but its a dead pad at bottom, other note is my kit has the full intruction sheet with them few added tips, i hope this tip helps other techs nice video reece keep it up be better on work bench lol

Also thanks I mainly just use my esr meter to test them but I might get an Lcr meter, I actually have just got another one of these in a few days ago blown fets again. Upon close inspection it looks like the smd parts mostly had alot of cold joints including the ground pads lot causes failure on these boards. Will probably order a kit in a few days tbh but then again the Tv is an older one so Im not in a rush

Also quite sure I ordered alot of caps off you recently as well.

Nice I will need you likely, going to need a repair kit for a sammy 42" Plasma DYP42W5 psu I belive its a customers and Ive not got time to wait for parts from china but I think you had a kit ?

just repaired one of these last week, tv lights up, but the top 6 tubes only light half way across the screen, so took screen apart and replaced the 6 tubes, and still the same, so give up for now, think it might be the transformers, as both top ones are buzzing loud,,

Could be the tarfo or the mosfets shorted sending a voltage that cant be fed into them.
