    Lg50pb690v

Hi guys. Any help much appreciated. Got this TV a while back but never had time to look at it right. Done obvious stuff like caps all good.
Problem is when turn on screen flashes white/grey split second and goes off no pic. TV still on as can use remote to turn on and off. Would like to start over fresh with some help off anyone please. what to go through, try.test etc. Until we can find problem or parts I will need.
Like I say any help is much appreciated and can't thank you guys enough just for taking the time to help out.
Bare with me though as proper noob

OK you see the glue on at the bottom of the y-sustain. Usually stuck to the side of the transformer and a 2.2 ohm resistor.

The glue becomes conductive and causes havoc to this board.

Scrape as much of it as possible away.

This might not be your fault, but try this first and see if the picture comes back.

Yes seen a bit something on this forum about a capacitor under that glue c205 I think .cleared glue from that and tested cap seems OK. Going to clear all off now and get back to you soon thanks

              Re: Lg50pb690v

OK so you'll need to check the voltages.
Annoying this TV tends not to show the correct voltages on the z-sus if the y-sustain is faulty.

For example (from memory) the VZB voltage should be 140v, but if the ysus is faulty it will sit around 70v

Also run test patterns on control board.

My bad lol. Not soldered resistor right. Resolded and now spark gone.va and vs and standby voltages correct.m_on & rl_on read 3.31v when tv turned on. All voltages right going to zsus and ysus. Not sure what I'm looking for to be honest. Need to more research on parts and testing. I'm more a cap or board changer

So you need to check -vy and vsc voltage on the y-sustain.

                          BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....

NO POST Nightmare - DFI G7L330-B Industrial Motherboard Socket 775
                          by techpointhull
                          Hi Guys,

Newbie here to board repair so bare with me. I have a bunch of Socket 775 motherboards from arcade gaming machines. The brand is DFI, and it's their industrial motherboard range model number G7L330-B

All boards have the same issue, no POST. I've re-capped the boards completely, can't see any shorts across the 12V rail and I've removed all MOSFETS from the board to test them. The boards have been ultrasonic cleaned as well as an alcohol bath, doesn't seem to have made a difference

BIOS is also correct, I do have a working board for reference...

This motherboard has the unfortunate thing where it splits the Bios file into one 16 Mb part and 8 Mb backup and I still don't know how to perform the split.

I don't know if the procedure is specific to this board or if there is a general rule on how to do this. I would appreciate if someone could do it for me. Thanks ...

                          Hi Guys,

Please could someone help I have a very strange issue with an HP 15-P104NI, The laptop wont boot unless the charger is connected despite the brand new battery. when I connect the charger with the battery installed the laptop takes forever to initialize the display but it eventually boots and the battery will say 100% however if I remove the charger it shuts off.

If i boot the laptop with the battery disconnected, the display initializes quickly and the laptop boots normally.

I have tested the battery as well as the charging current to the...

Excellent power model IT ATX 300w - shuts down after a split second
                          by kotel studios
                          Hi,

Recently I gave a shot at recapping this Excellent power IT ATX 300 lc clone doohickey PSU. After I replaced all bulging caps and the 47uF 50v in 5vsb I turned it on. 5vsb and ps_on are spot on. So I shorted the ps_on and it dies after a split second. 5vsb still is generating, all other lines also generate voltage for a while but they all discharge so fast.

Now I am sure this isn't a problem with the 5vsb damaging the PWM IC or BJT circuit, but I have no idea where to go next. Maybe replacing all the smaller caps?
