Problem with vizio plasma tv vizio p50hdtv10a

Hello and thank you for helping.Let me break down the story best i can.I received an old Vizio plasma 50 inch tv (p50hdtv10a) 2007.It worked fine only issue was that it would solarize after 45 mins with a fan behind it and 24 mins with out a fan.I worked on computers for many years so i figured okay maybe its dusty or heatsink needs a fresh shot of paste.I looked up online to check what the problem could be.If it had solarization with menu screen selected also being distorted its two things. The control board or main video board.I took it all apart and found the control board or tcon board.I noticed it had no heat sink.I tried mounting one on with yarn. When i assembled everything i got no picture.

The following things happend. I reconnected the ribbon cables and power cables.Tv makes that click sound and now i got a soft glow picture but with no on screen display but would make a faint flash like glow when selecting inputs.I checked all my connections again and noticed the Tcon board has an led code. The code D2(off) D3(on) D4(on) and D5(on).I unplugged everything this time.It did it again ,same faint glow.I tested audio and audio would play but then cut out.My brother who is better in electronics told me it seems like something is shorting out.Something is preventing the signal.I then came to realize i had connected the LVDS cable wrong. So i flipped it around but now the tv doesnt make that click sound when i plug the ac cord.I look at the front of my tv and in the bottom right where its normally amber and then green when on is just a solid green.

Anyone know if i boned my set beyond repair.I hate the fact i finally found out i just needed a t-con board and thats it.It pretty much worked before i decided to take shit apart.

Re: Problem with vizio plasma tv vizio p50hdtv10a

I was able to get power back on the tv.I had the LVDS cable connected wrong.I changed out the tcon board and still getting solarization after 35 mins of use. The day before that with the old Tcon board i used a large 20 inch box fan and outside temps were 61F. It was blowing cold air and it was good up to 2hrs plus.Im not sure if longer as i fell asleep and turned off the set.I remember it looking fine.I also noticed that behind the tv it makes a strange sound. The best i can describe is a small fridge sound. The pictures shows the outline where i put the fan and also the screen of the solarization.

I'm aware now that my LVDS cable was connected wrong. If anyone as a problem with a blank screen or dim flash screen make sure you put the LVDS cable back correctly. Also the green screen for those that get this problem.Make sure to seat the LVDS cable in all the way. That fixed my green issue.

So what im asking help for is pretty much what can be overheating? I changed out the Tcon board. There's not a lot of distortion but the menu does get distorted also. If you see in my picture where i drew a red outline , thats where i had my fan.The tv lasted 2 plus hours during a 61F morning. Is it something in the section overheating? What else can it be other than the tcon board?

Also for those that get lots of ghosting use the noise reduction and set to zero .

Since the problem seems to come with heat accumulation use a hair dryer to speed up the process by heating each board one at a time. Then we can go from there.

Okay , what setting should I use? Should I use a barrier between the air and the components? Like a towel?

i usually use high heat too warm each board and see if you see the fault change. just heat the whole board first untill you narrow down which board it is, then we can narrow the area down even further. Its hard to say how long too heat the board for though but i guess about 3 mins moving the heat all over the board not too close though.

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
              by Fly_Among_Stars
              Hi,
              I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
              Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
              by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
              by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

              Vizio P759-G1, Tcon issue?
              by EazyBone
Got this TV free. Guy said it tries to turn on and doesn't. I haven't seen this specific issue before but shown in video. Any way to test the screen to rule it out on these Vizio? Or anyone seen this issue before?

              Any help appreciated
