Ok, i have a weird distorted picture issue with this set, if powered normally the screen comes on, and within 5 seconds shuts itself off, the tv stays powered on, but the image fades out slowly, i have forced the tv on with the vol - and input button method, which causes the set to stay powered even with the error, when i do this i get a weird picture but you can see most of the screen, reference image 1, when i disconect the right ribbon going from t-con to the screen i get a clear image as shown in image 2, if i reconnect the right ribbon and disconnect the left, i get a half screen image with the original results, distorted and fuzzy in appearance. Im trying to verify that this is a t-con board issue, can someone offer some guidance as to how i can verify the problem here.

Im fairly certain the screen itself isnt damaged, if i power it up with the t-con board ribbons both removed i get a nice evenly lit screen with no cracks or visible damage to the screen itself.

disconnect the little corner cable in the lower right side of the panel which interconnects the lower edge boards to the side boards. Odds are you may get a good picture. go from there. My guess you have a cable connection issue so also check to ensure all cables are connected properly.

When i disconnect that connection the tv will not even boot, it gets stuck it a boot cycle, and then flashes a code. 2 then 5, which means no 12v to panel. That must be the power for the t-con board.

I was referring to the cables at the corner of the panel not the tcon card.
