Re: Sharp LC-60SQ15U TV DPS-167CP - No power
Well little update, replaced D7950 and R7900 and the TV is back to life. After replacing R7900 pin 5 jumped up to around 15-16V.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC-60SQ15U TV DPS-167CP - No power
Sorry to necro an old post, but felt it might be better to keep relevant info in the same spot.
Ran into the same issue with my TV over the weekend. Zero power, lights, nothing on standby, etc.
D7950 tested as bad, so I have ordered a replacement for that.
Decided to check the other things recommended here, but am stumped on how to tell if IC7903 is bad. Still pretty new to this.
Like egoh I get high voltage (165.3v) on pins 8 and 7, but my pin 5 gets 9.6v. Pins 1 and 2 are .2mv and pin 4 is 10.2mv.
On R7900 I am getting 2.7-3ohm when powered off, and higher when on. The resistor also has continuity.Leave a comment:

OK, I found pictures at shopjimmy.
C7818 is a snubber cap for the PFC Diode D7805, its typical value is about 220 pf 1KV, but I always replace it with 2KV rating instead, it is commonly failed caps in Samsung power supply also.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC-60SQ15U TV DPS-167CP - No power
HI, new to site. I am basic electronics skill. I heard a pop in the back of my sharp lc-60le650u tv last night. indicator light flashes 2 long 2 short which I think means 13V line on power supply bd and I have no picture. took off back of tv looking for bad cap or something obvious but everything "looks" ok. any ideas where to look or what to check.Leave a comment:

Sorry for the delay, I just saw your message. The diode is an SB2100, Digikey Part Number 1655-1516-1-ND. I have 9 extra and would be happy to mail you a few for free.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC-60SQ15U TV DPS-167CP - No power
What was the specs on the D7950 diode? Mine blew and the text on it is unreadable.Update: I figured the shorted diode was the culprit so after replacing blown R7900 and shorted D7950, I powered up the board and R7900 immediately blew, but D7950 was still good. I then replaced IC7903 and R7900 and the board powered up normally! The TV works perfectly!
Thank you everyone for all the help!Leave a comment:

Sorry, I got busy with car and house repairs. I ended up replacing the board and haven't circled back to diagnose the original failed board.Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... - Loading...
