    SONY KDL-32L504 sound but no picture.

    The issue is no picture, ive checked the power supply, all test points tested fine, the backlight does operate, i can cycle inputs untill i find audio, but the picture is always black, the screen is not damaged. I tested the vgma points and there appears to be 0 voltage coming to the t-con board. Should i suspect a faulty main board?

      Have you checked the white smd fuse on the Tcon for continuity?
      Willing to help but I'm no expert.

          Actually no I haven't i will check it as soon as i get back to the shop lol. Its always the little things.

              It does not have continuity, but does have a resistance of somewhere around 4.000 m ohms

                      12v on one side of smd fuse, .5mv on the other side.

                          A good fuse will measure less than 1.0 ohms. Your fuse is bad.

                              Ok, so i soldered in place a 3amp replacement fuse, and i have picture!!!! But the inage is kind of doubled. And apears to be jumping, i tested the vg points in order, they appear correct, starting at 14.5v and stepping down in voltage as the vg## increased.

                                  Reseat and clean all your connections with IPA whether you plugged them or not. Especially the t-con connector.

                                  Reset TV back to factory defaults.

                                      After doing this i now have no picture again, but fuse is still good, and now my vgma points are testing bad. Did the t-con just fry itself? Ive tried removing each connection and cleaning then reseating, but the vgma values seem to be unaffected. And i get no difference in picture, just a black screen.

                                          Im pretty certain the t-con board is now bad, but it makes me wonder if the main board was originally at fault.

                                              You may bad Source and Gate driver ICs which are on the flexible PCB between the LCD glass panel and the tab boding board that shorted out and caused the fuse to blow up in the first place.

                                                  This one is also repaired, a new t-con board fixed the image issue that was remaining, thanks again for all your help guys.

                                                      Hey Guys,

                                                      So a few months ago my Sony XBR 49x900e TV screen stopped displaying the picture but the backlight comes on and I still get sound when I use the remote and navigate to certain apps. I haven't checked anything with the meter yet but started with ordering some replacement boards. I've tried replacing the BMKS board (used from ebay) and also completed the firmware upgrade based on Nicks TV repairs youtube video. I've also replaced the TCON (twice) and PIB.

                                                      All of these changes have resulted in the same issue with no picture. I've also tried disconnecting the ribbons...

                                                      Trying to Save - SONY BRAVIA KD-75X780F - No Picture BUT there’s sound

                                                      Previous owner said TV just went blank one day.
                                                      They attempted to open the back panel and yanked the power connector off the power supply in the meantime.
                                                      Easily fixed that and got the TV to turn on. Backlights come one with everything connected. Good Sign.
                                                      The mainboard shows signs of life (red light on digital audio out is on) but that's about it. Good Sign.
                                                      There is not blinking LED and the most importantly there is LED response and sound when I press the MENU button on remote control. GREAT Sign.

                                                      Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                                      - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                                      - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                                      - it keeps rebooting
                                                      - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                                      - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                                      I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

                                                      I have a Sony KD-43XE8005 with no picture on the TV when powered on. Audio and backlight work ok when powering on. Solid white indication light showing on front of tv bezel.

                                                      When removing the left hand ribbon cable from the T-con board, a white image is displayed on that half of the screen and a black screen is shown on the right. If I gently rub the ribbon cable on the right an image or purple black bars appear. The cable doesnt appear damaged, and if swapped with the other ribbon cable the same flickering symptoms can be seen.
