LG 60PX950-AA Repair. Have test pattern.

    Hi,

    First post, so Hi All.

I've just bought an LG 60PX950-AA that needs repair, And hope to replace my TV it.

    It powers on, Has sound.

When I jumper the test points on the (T-CON?) Board, I get my test patterns, Albeit after a few rounds i got a solid single pixel (dark) vertical line during red and blue not during white or any other test, and a single off colour pixel during red and blue. <hoping this will go away with fault or point to it.....

Not sure which board I am to blame, Is it more likely to be the tuner board? > remote works fine, volume up and down, and channels.

Or is it going to be something else???

In my industry, we fix a lot of lcds, psu, and crt.. but never Plasma... Really appreciate any help.

    Cheers Guys!

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

The trouble is with any vertical line on a plasma can be signs of a failing panel can you upload a picture of the screen showing the line?

        Thanks,

I'm hoping its not the panel. I'll upload a photo this afternoon, It actually appeared while I was watching it cycle through the test patterns. Was perfect for the first 2 passes, then it appeared.

Sorry for the quality of the photos. new phones in the post!

As you can see, the line is there in blue and green only, white and red it is not apparent.

The other vertical lines - faint discoloured lines, are from the camera, they're not visable to the naked eye.

I'm thinking you have a panel fault and since you're looking at a mainboard replacement which I would expect to be expensive the question is if the line is still there can you live with it or Not? Will it continue to get worse?

Only ever had that once on a panasonic and depending on the scenes and colours it was sometimes not too noticeable. Generally it's the IC embedded on the tape package to the panel so not repairable.

Hisense stuck in Colors cycle like test pattern.

                    Hello,

I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.

I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to...

                    Hello all,
I got this beauty of a 65" Android Smart TV from a roommate whose boss through it out because it didn't work. I've fixed a few TVs before, but was being stupid on this one:

                    Original issue:
TV powered down after a minute or so, but picture was fine.
Tried replacing main board, which didn't work. I should have just replaced the AC Power board.

Months later, I replaced the power board, so I can see the screen. I lost / threw out my original main board, and there is now what I believe to be a defective main board in the TV. My symptoms...

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
                    by chth96
                    Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

                    Intermittent color test pattern issue.

I've got a LN-T4065F which came into my shop with the customer complaining that the test patterns would randomly come up on the screen. Upon testing, the pattern came up on the screen after about 20 minutes of use. We opened it up and did a visual inspection to see if there was any dust or bugs shorting out anything on the board that would generate the test patterns. I'm a bit new to TV repair but on a plasma tv that we recently worked on we strapped out the auto ext on the control board and it generated test patterns on the screen. My thoughts was that maybe something was shorting out that circuit.......

                    Vizio D55UN-E1 test pattern
                    by handsworth
Hey, Got this tv for free. Works fine, great picture except that if you unplug it and turn it back on, it goes to test pattern. (red, green, blue gray, black full screen). Menu, inputs and channel info show as they should, so I dont suspect tcon. If I do a factory reset, the tv performs as it should. Only if I disconnect the power does it go back into test mode. Is the eprom corrupt or can I remedy this in service mode? Any ideas are appreciated.
