    Horizontal Lines on Vizio E601i-A3e?

I bought this TV on craigslist who said the back light didn't work, but it did and all (I thought) it needed was a new TCON - there was sound, but no picture.

So now I have a new TCON board in it and I get a perfect picture, but there are a few horizontal lines towards the bottom... Bad panel? Is there anything I can do to repair?

    Am I missing something small?

Edit: One picture is blurry because of my camera movement

the horizontal lines show up OK... :-) :-(
the bad news is that on this set, those lines can't be fixed and further, it is likely that it will take out the tcon again... actually one of the fets on the tcon which can be replaced but as I indicated, you are fighting a losing battle.

Update: Lasted 20 mins after new TCON was put in. TV went black

Bud, I bought some beefier transistors for the COXA/COTA replacing... By fet do you mean this one? The MOSFET?

If I switch out the transistor for a better one do you think it can last and I'll just deal with the lines?

That's basically your only option to get anything out of the set. As you see in other vizio threads, "beefier" helps... BUT ultimately the tab drivers that are causing the lines will continue to be a bigger and bigger issue. Only with the 70in sets where the tabs are removed from the side that is in trouble is the set "salvageable".

So after the TCON failed I replaced the transistor and boom, TV shows image again and its been on for about 1 hour, however one side of the screen is darker? Before I had a perfect picture with the horizontal lines, now lines plus darker image on one side.

Did I maybe mess something else up on the TCON?

Ya BUT.... I guess you probably "proved" why they (vizio / sharp) choose the component that they did. :-) :-( There are probably a "few characteristics" that you didn't consider / know that are different. My guess, you are seeing some form of "loading" on the device that lowers it output just a bit resulting in "less than full powering" horizontally.

double check your cable connections as potentially they might not be seated properly. The picture is somewhat similar to a 70 in when on of the side corner cables is disconnected... of course, you don't have those as this set only has a lower set of boards.

                Vizio M58Q7 colored horizontal lines
                by rapid911
Hi guys, I have a Vizio M58Q7-J01 and now there are some colored horizontal lines on the screen. Could someone tell me if it's probably a panel issue or something related to other parts and can be fixed? Thank you in advance....

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
                by Ihandyrepair
                Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Vizio E70-E3 Two white vertical lines
                by brad2157
I picked up a Vizio E70-E3 for free that shows Vizio logo and then goes to a black screen. Original owner said he started having wifi issues and then he tried to reset the TV and that's when it wouldn't boot up any longer after his reset attempt. I picked up a replacement main board from eBay that matches the same model # board as the original from the TV.

Original main board - Shows Vizio logo when TV powers on, then goes to black screen. Doesn't boot up. No screen issues with any lines on start up Vizio logo.

Replacement main board - Boots up fine, but starting...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
