    Coby TFTV4028 Blue Light Special

Been a while since posting but I ran into this in the shop and I see on the site a few threads with no real answers and most were started by the same person over and over. ANYWAY Coby 42" TFTV4028 Sometimes the TV will not come on and only the blue light on the bottom. I say this because at times it will work just fine hit or miss. I can unplug for a couple hours and plug back in then maybe it will work and never skip a beat all night. shut it off and next day will not turn on. Never the same thing to get it to work again. When the set will not work I have checked and I do have good voltages from the power board. No signs of bulging caps on the any of the boards. I did see mentioned to replace the 1000Uf caps on the main board for this so I did and it did not help at all.

Not seeing any markings for Backlight-on on the main board. Getting 24v over at the inverter board.

There are labels for the pins of those 3 connectors that go to the main board and the main board, give the list of those names for each connectors, look at the bottom side of the board too.

Also the connector on the Inverter board, the wire are separated into two set, one goes to the power supply board for the 24V and GND, then the other set of wire goes to the main board, this the set of wire that should have BL-ON and Dimming control wires, look at the connector on the main board to see if they are labeled with names.

What I did I buy a board on ebay for tftv4028 there's 3 diferente boards but you might think it won't fit because of serial. Mine had 2810 on the serial number and I buy the 2813 serial #, what I did is change the old eeprom to the new board you going to install, it is just swapping the eeproms...and it work..so easy fix..

When you change the eeprom be sure to install it, how it was be careful not to install it backwards. The most important eeprom is the one on the old board of your tv......

Ended up scraping the Tv as a used board was more than the TV is worth working.

Nintendo 2DS XL – Orange light, no blue light, signs of overheating
                  by Tomylee
Hi everyone, I have a Nintendo 2DS XL that shows the orange charging light when plugged in, but nothing happens when I press the power button — no blue light, no screen, no sound.

                  Here's what I've observed:

All ribbon cables are properly connected

Battery is present and in good condition

No reaction even with screens disconnected

There's a visible burn mark / overheating sign on the metal shield, right above the CPU

I’m suspecting an issue with the CPU, PMIC, NAND, or a power...

                  proscan 40ld45q

Have tried published resets with no help. (unplug for 10, push on-off for 30, push menu and vol +, etc.)

After being plugged in, red light comes on. Push power button and blue light comes on for ~five seconds then goes out. Power button does not turn the unit on a second time - have to unplug/re-plug before power button will try to start with blue light.

No sound, no picture (used flashlight test).

No bulging cap, no burn spots, no burn smells, nothing visual (cold joints/breaks/bugs).

                  Digital voltmeter;...

PS5 EDM-033 Blue Light 2 Sec then Powers Off
                  by TurboTundra
Hi, I am waiting for my uart tool so I can grab an error code and narrow down where my issue is, but I decided to measure capacitors and fuses to insure everything was okay.

The PS5 turns on with a blue light and a beep for 1-2 seconds then turns off. I noticed a grey capacitor measures no voltage on standby or input power. Does this indicate a problem with the capacitor or something down on the line? I’m getting 3.3v on input with the red cap next to the grey one, and 5.2v on input with the red cap further away from the grey cap.

                  Thank you for any input...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...
