    Samsung UN65HU8700F - Black and white vertical bars on half of screen

    I got this Samsung 65 inch curved tv which someone else had tried to fix.

    Black and white lines fade in when power is applied to the tv. They fade out pretty quick and the backlight shuts off. Think its the intro logo for the tv being distorted. Then the backlight turns back on with no image. Also noticed when i remove power from thd tv, the red led flashes on and off for a 10-20 seconds which does not seem normal.

    The first thing I noticed after opening it is that tcon fuse F1 was missing. Not sure if it was blown off or someome removed it. I replaced with a good tcon board and still having the problem. I have reseated all of the buffer board and tcon flst ribbon cables as well.


    Anyone have any suggestions on what i can do next to properly troubleshoot this tv?

      Panel failure IMO not fixable.

          Hi all Happy Holidays! Was just wondering if you think this white vertical bar would be fixable. Maybe bad TCon or ribbon cable? Contemplating trading a 50 inch Hisense 4K Roku for the Samsung but might get burned lol. The Samsung is model QN65Q80AAFXZC QLED TV has a white vertical Bar. Any thought appreciated. Thanks.

          I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

          The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear.           I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground.           TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?

          Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort.
