Samsung Ln46b650t1fxza horizontal black and white lines vertical colored lines

    Hey folks,
I'm pretty rusty and I've never seen anything like this, not sure if it's a really far gone case of bad tab bonds or if it's a fixable tcon or main board issue. Screen turns on with a black screen and chime. Faint white horizontal lines appear at regular pixel intervals and fade in. Where the white lines are visible, there are multicolored vertical lines. Any ideas?
If I can get this working, it's a donation to a friend who's kid broke his last TV.

    Thanks
    Alex

Do the lines remain in the same position each time you switch on because if they do, it is probably a Tab fault.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Yeah, they do. I have been in the field for week, so haven't really been able to play with it, but i believe you're right.

Seems like panel to me. Try messing with the Tab bonds see if any of them ade causing this issue.

I suggest replacing the T-CON Board.

SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H - White horizontal lines / red LED flashes four times
              by thstuff
This "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.

Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
              1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.

              2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...

              Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
              by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
              by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

              Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
              by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Toshiba TV 55L6200U horizontal lines + vertical bands. Any hope?
              by oxi1158
              Hi all,

My TV had been showing for the last year some faint horizontal lines on all of its right side, about one out of each 4 of 5 rows of pixels. Not much of a bother, they were unnoticeable when watching a movie. Then, all of a sudden the horizontal lines became much stronger and crossed the whole screen, effectively making it a pain to watch.

I watched some youtube video where some guy "fixes" it with some tape on the ribbon cable of the t-con, so I tried that, but to no avail. Actually, after putting the TV back together again things worsened: apart...
