Hi,
just joined the forum.
My main TV Hitachi 32HXC01UB backlight failed on the 1st of May, just over 2 years old.
I found one LED open-circuit next to the connector on one of the two 11 LED strips.Reeceyburger123's tutorial on you tube was invaluable in disassembling LCD screen, diffusors and reflector. The double sided tape on the reflector was a pain to separate,Iused small plastic sheets to isolate the sticky tape.Just hope the smd FET and LED array chip on the Vestel 17IPS19-5 PSU have survived.Leave a comment:

Toshiba 40" led Tv done today, 40L1333B with Samsung LTA400HM23 screen which has the Led driver built in to the panel. One bad Led causing the whole lot not to work, I also bridged over them connector blocks with solid wire for increased reliability I replaced the Led direct rather than stacking it as it was in an awkward position. Tv works fineLast edited by ReeceyBurger123; 05-02-2016, 12:51 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
what a coincidence!! that's why I'm here today. Done quite a few Samsung, LG, Hisense, Seki and Element I am about to work on a Samsung UN46EH500 now.
Is there a site that i can buy new LEDs from.. how do i tell the actual specs for the LEDS. Right now I'm pulling them off old strips from other TVs.Leave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
TBH--Which is rather odd, seeing everyone has done so many!
Ive only done about 5 or 6 or so. Even though I see about 10-15 sets a week, most are still CCFL/Plasma....
All the ones Ive done have been either Samsung or Vestel turds usually with 40" Sams panels....
One pretty recent Samsung 40" so-called, 'smart' TV is now on me kitchen wall, That had a whole string out--but oddly still worked OK with a dark band on the picture. It had one O/C LED...
--On this one,--The front bezel of the set is also the actual outer frame holding the LCD panel to the backlight assay, removing it caused the LCD Panel itself to come free--When I wasn't expecting it!--Summit to watch for with newer sets
--But I guess you Veterans of Backlight LED's know that already!....Leave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
From the sales of my LED repair kits on eBay, I can say that it appears that vestal type are the most common ones asked for, with the Samsung type a close second, followed by the larger LG Innotek and smaller LG lens type. with much the same for new full strip sales, edge lite strips for all makes gather a bit of dust waiting to be sold. So Vestal lead the the way in defective LEDsLeave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
Looking to replace 2 LED's on a UN46EH5000 with panel CY-DF460BGLV1H. Can't find LED strips anymore. Any idea what the specs are for individual LED's? Or do you think the LED's from UN50EH5000 could work and last?
Thank youLeave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
Countless, excluding the VESTEL Umc junk.
I'd say that the most common model I see is the LG LN series. 42LN 47LN 50LN
I'm so used to cracking this model open Im down to less than an hour.Leave a comment:

Funai LF320FX4F also one bad led.
Repaired with a section of a salvaged strip - I found it too difficult to remove and replace the defective led.Leave a comment:

Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.
Funai LF320FX4F had one bad LED
LG 47LN5200 UB had several
This video really helped me in learning how to repair a bad LED as long as you have a small stock of salvaged LED strips:

by PipolupsHi there !
I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...10-08-2024, 11:58 AM -
by TrisHClHi,
First post...
I have this TV, which was working, then suddenly would not turn on. It would get the clicking relay then flash up the screen for less than a second, off for a second then on again. Removing the plug the relay continues to click on and off for a few cycles, which I don't think it did before.
Left it a few months, then finally got round to taking the back off, and it worked as it should. So I tested various bits and all was well. Then turned it on again, and back to the clicking relay.
I disconnected the main board from the power... -
by max789Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.
I made the following tests:
1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.
So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from... -
by bpcannan'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.
Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.
I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.
I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate... -
by jesteraceHi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.
However, I am in a dilemma.
I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected... - Loading...
